I might be the only one, but when I read the title, I thought "Paul" referred to Paul Pierce.

My heart fell out, until it said "CP3." Even then, I scrolled to see if Pierce's name was there.

Come on man, gotta be more careful.

He said "a different Paul", it's in Around the NBA and not a Celtics subforum, and Pierce isn't a free agent so resigning with the Cs is a non-issue.  Not sure how much more bubblewrapped this needs to be.

RE: the topic - Wouldn't be surprised if CP3 left - he hasn't seemed especially happy with the Clippers, and Dallas is an appealing destination; and he's reportedly wanted to be a Knick for years, though I don't know how that deal could work.  But no surprises if he leaves town.
Not sure what you are talking about. All I said was I confused Paul with Paul Pierce.

  • Ashy To Classy, baby.
*fans start finding obscure ways to get him for next year*

Sign and trade Chinese League MVP (?) Stephon Marbury, Rondo and a conditional pick for CP3 and Ryan Hollins, then flip Hollins and DJ White for Josh Smith;

and bam: 18.
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.

Ah, the dreams ...

Living in Boston is his nightmare,  he wants to stay a warm CA boy .  His  dream is to play for LA and KOBE and Phil Jackson.

Putting CP3 in Boston would be like sending me to Siberia.

All the reasons above are why he will always be a loser. You can't have everything your way. The fact that he values good weather more than winning a ring just shows the pathetic loser this guy is.

CP3, Wade, Battier, LeBron, and Bosh...now that's a complete dynasty team.

CP3, Shumpert, Melo, Amar'e, and Tyson...another scary team in the East.

Point is, eff those stacked teams lol.

Clippers need to do everything in their power to sign CP3 back.

They are nothing without CP3.

Both Jordan and Blake are non-factors without CP3 setting them up.

He's taking his talents to South Beach

Maybe that way he could find out what it's like to get past the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Yeah, I've heard that multiple Hall of Fame teammates, a great coach, and a great GM can do wonders for a point guard's legacy.

I suppose so, if "hall of fame teammates" means teammates that used to play at a hall of fame level when they were younger, but don't anymore. Not that some people can tell the difference, obviously.

Yeah, obivously the washed up, broken down 2012 versions of Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce are much worse teammates than the 2013 versions of Chauncey Billups and Lamar Odom.  And Doc Rivers is much worse than Vinny Del Negro.   ::) Not that some people can tell the difference, obviously.

For the record, CP3 has a better PER, higher Win Shares, better TS%, and better eFG% than Rondo in the playoffs.  All the type of stats that you quote religiously when they work in Rondo's favor.

Chris Paul (playoffs) - 21/5/10, 48% FG, 25.5 PER, .188 Win Shares, .572 TS%, .512 eFG%

Rajon Rondo (playoffs) - 15/6/9, 45% FG, 18.5 PER, .131 Win Shares, .487 TS%, .457 eFG%

Clearly Chris Paul has been awful in the playoffs.  You would think that even approaching all-time playoff legend Rajon Rondo would be impossible.  Not that some people can tell the difference, obviously.  At least we know Danny Ainge can.

The fact that you think that Billups and Odom are the Clipper's equivalents of KG and PP speaks for itself.

I rarely quote PER stats, quote win shares much less often than that and only quote TS% or eFG% when I'm talking about scoring efficiency. So, congrats on a more accurate than usual post.

it got me too, and i have a reasonable explanation. first if you are on the home page and look at the 'Recent Forum Posts' you cant see what sub forum the thread is in. second the wording "So a different Paul may not re-sign with his team" could be interpreted as a new(second) rumor about Pierce not re-signing with Boston. third as for how Pierce could be a FA, he has a player option to terminate the final year of his contract.
