Darko is terrible. Shavlik is terrible.
Give it a rest plesae
Look dude, you are welcome to your opinion here, and with me....but don't EVER tell me what to do or say. Please.
Sheesh relax. I also think that our bench bigs (with the exception of maybe Wilcox) were not going to contribute a lot to the NYK series. We had one quality big - KG. And if we had played better as a team in those 1st three games one quality big might have been enough to beat the Knicks.
I see 4 main things impacting how the season played out:
1) KG / PP / Jet - just getting too old to play at the really high level that everyone expected
2) Horrible season ending injuries to RR, JS, and AB that no one could have anticipated
3) Unrealistic expectations on AB, JG, and Wilcox all coming back from major surgery.
4) Not bringing in a FA that could really help with scoring the ball.
I don't see how any of those are Doc's fault unless he is telling DA what off season moves to make. I can see DA being responsible for items 3 and 4. I think everyone thought that KG, PP would play as well as they did in the playoffs last year, and that obviously didn't happen through a lot of the year.
Bottom line DA didn't get what he wanted as value for PP/KG and so he rolled the dice that they had one more big playoff push in them. It didn't work out, but given the limitations on the salary cap, the players available, and the season ending injuries that we had, I don't see how this season was going to turn out any better with another coach or another GM.
