This has been a fun run. The championship was amazing, and there have been some great playoff series along the way. This year was the first that I found un-enjoyable, and I am someone who was even able to enjoy watching the team pre-KG trade.

I feel it is important to acknowledge that people can appreciate Pierce, KG, and the run we had the last few years while also feeling that we have followed this path as far as we could productively follow it. It is the hopeful joy I felt watching this team that makes me want to move on. I did not enjoy the feeling of futility and excessive expectations of this season. I did not enjoy watching the exposing of key players who were becoming shadows of their former selves.

This season had it's brights spots, but as a whole it was definitely hard to watch.

Love the team and watch them even when they are not good, so speak for yourself.

This year was definately the most unenjoyable.  It was really bad.  But this era in general has been great to say the least.

I always said when I left the Celtics, I could not go to heaven, because that would
be a step down. I am pure 100 percent Celtic. I think if you slashed my wrists, my
blood would’ve been green.  -  Bill "Greatest of All Time" Russell

No doubt in my mind, given same circumstances the Celtics would have fared much better under different Management since the Allen Garnett deals. No 1 focal point is the throw away of another Championship vs. LA.

This year was definitely hard to watch, as expectations were higher than what actually had resulted.  Still, I'm thankful for having seen a title in my lifetime (I was alive in '86, but I was only a toddler, so I don't count it), and for being able to see guys like Garnett and Ray become Celtics.  Time flies, but it has definitely been an overall good 6 years.  Ups and downs, side to sides, but good, nonetheless.  It could have been far, far worse...(See the 2007 campaign)

Well said guava. I, too, loved this era of Celtic basketball but it might be time to move on to another era. How did Breen put it last night:

"This is year six of an original three year plan in Boston."

He's right. In 2007 we all talked about windows of opportunities and that window being 3-4 years. Six years have passed. 1 title, 2 trips to the Finals, 3 trips to the ECFs, 5 trips to the ECSFs and 6 trips to the playoffs.

Those are pretty special results for an original three year plan.

Thanks Celtics.

I'm grateful, too.

It's a bit of a stretch, but I think THIS group has ONE MORE run in them, with Rondo and Sully...

But yeah, GREAT RUN so far....I think June 17, 2008 was the AWESOMEST  ;D.

Don't think the Lakers have EVER suffered a Final defeat THAT bad...don't think that Cousy, Russell, Hondo or Cowens EVER laid one THAT BAD on the Lakers.

I'll NEVER forget that game....the last few years have been worth it, indeed.

Danny Ainge - PLEASE don't blow it up....give this team ONE MORE shot.
