kg said if he wants to return he needs help,
putting kg back at c playing 35+minutes a game next year...is not what is kg hoping for, kg is best at def rebounds and jump shots pick and pop...
there is a way, trade bass 6 million to get a big man and add fillers,
kg is too slim, on hibbert dwight etc;
quick pf seems ok than a bruiser centers, which kg needs help a lot

KG is good as center, but better as PF.
The team need to have a center that is a threat. That way it will give more space for KG jump shots.

i agree...because at this stage of his career, if you noticed he gets rebounds, but he is more on a pick n' pop, i mean he likes to get more jump shots...
when he was paired with jason collins, i was yes that's how to used kg, but collins u know...i was hoping for darko, but my friends says darko is a bust and no used in celtics...

guarding kg by quick PF but undersized 6'8 is a better way to utilized kg's offense, i don't see any threat to pf's, but dirk gasol bargiani boozer z-bo griffin aldridge anthonydavis those good pf's

but again giving kg some advantage of height makes it more easier for kg to shoot, when he was contested by tyson many times his offense really sucks big time

KG next to DMC, or a healthy Bogut, are the best bets. It needs to be a banger with some nasty in them. Horford would be a nice fit as well.

I don't see Marc Gasol leaving Memphis anytime soon, he looks pretty happy there.

Al Jefferson isn't the right fit, but one of the other Jazz bigs might be worth a look at. Millsap's looking for a 3 year 21 million deal, which might be a good yardstick to work out the market.

Varejao played well this season because he was ina contract year, he'll be looking for a big payday once he is back from his injury.

Bass + filler?? does not get the celtics a starting caliber center.

If KG is coming back next year he will likely have to stay at center. I think at this age it is his natural position especially given the new spacing style of the NBA. He is not going to be as effective getting pulled away from the basket by stretch 4s and will lose his quickness advantage he still holds over many centers.  He needs better play from the PF position (hopefully coming from a healthy sully) and a back up who can eat up alot of minutes for him. If Melo miraculously develops he is the type of play KG needs but I don't see that happening for next season. I think DA's hope coming into this past season was that the combo of Darko and Collins would lessen KGs work load while not crippling the defense. For many reason this didn't happen.

what if oden and mozgov as centers since we don't have any pieces or hard salary cap situations? with kg starting at pf and sully as back-up?
sully is not yet 100% sure healthy as starter for next year...

How they get Mozgov and Oden? Maybe denver does a bass for mozgov based trade but he still isn't a starting caliber center and they will not have the $$ to go after oden, (i think at best they have 3yr 3mill exception)

  • You say when......
I just answered this in the pp kg post..but...kg has told Doc..... 1000 times he doesn't like playing center.....man..so yes..as a trainer/off the bench, and a forward.....too bad doc ran off DARKO....another reason doc should be let go, or demoted to an asst....don't forget we had DARKO.....a real center and a FORCE to be dealt with....imagine the knicks series with darko at center...kg at pf......REBOUNDS and blocked shots.....you think felton and chandler would be in the paint...nononononononono...!

KG needs a quality big man next to him, doesn't matter what you call him.

And I think he's absolutely aged out of being a primary PF, you need a big guy with some quickness next to him.
