Yeah, lets just throw the blame on the 36 year old who (playing injured) just gave us three consecutive 17+ rebound games and who has been the anchor of our defense.

Wow the Celtics really do have some horrible fans.

At least one of those illegal screens was a terrible call, with the Officials falling for Mr Argentina's horrendous flops - that guy should be fined at least 3 times for this game alone.

Anyhow this game had nothing to do with KG.  Pierce lost us this game in the first quarter by shooting us into a 15 point hole with his horrible decision making and ball-hog play style.  At the end of the day he put us into a huge hole that a team like this just doesn't have the offensive firepower to shoot it's way back out of.

Nothing but appreciation for Avery Bradley and Jeff Green for leading that 4th quarter comback and making their effort to get back in it.

Look, everybody has good and bad shooting games, and you can never blame a player for that because it's not something you always have control over.  Two things you DO always have control over though are your defense, your effort and your decision making.  Pierce's defense and effort were there, but his decision making was horrendous for 70% of this series.

In fact Pierce has looked a lot like Jordan Crawford. His shot selection and his unforced turnovers (both a result of him being selfish and trying to do it all himself) have essentially cost the Celtics this series.  He needs to learn when to realise he's not that guy anymore, and when he isn't getting good looks he needs to look for his teammates.

KG has done exactly that - he didn't take shots in that 4th quarter because he didn't get any good looks. He has made the right play on 90% of occasions regardless of the outcome - KG, Green, Terry, Bass and Williams were our four best players in this series because regardless of whether they played good or bad, they always made the right decisions.

Very dissapointed in Doc TBH for not playing Terry for much of that 4th quarter.  He's a big time shot maker in clutch situations as we've learned the last few games, and he lives for those situations.  I was begging Doc to put him in, and once he did it took all of about one minute before Terry hit a big three. Still this game isn't on Doc, it's on the captain.

TP for this. And while Terry has sucked for the most part of this year, he did come alive big time these past few win-or-go-home games

HAHA disappointed in someone that gave there all for a franchise even though it hurt to walk. There should be statues of both Pierce and KG outside of the Garden after this season. They gave it there all for the city of Boston and the fans of the Boston Celtics. No disappointment from myself for either of the guys.

disappointed with this thread by ranting on KG. he is the biggest reason why this team even reach game 6. he is old and still played with all his heart. grit and balls.

I thought Garnett was a no-show for the first two games. From there (games 3-6), I thought KG did a great job on the boards but struggled offensively and, while he did really well defensively, KG didn't play up to his early season levels on that end of the court either.

There was a large drop-off both from last year and from where KG was earlier this season.

It makes me nervous about how much the team can depend on him heading into next season.

I am far more disappointed in Paul than I am in KG ... Ticket went down swinging, and Truth just seemed to have moved back to LA two games ago, (man, I hate saying that). Paul is my main man, has been since Bird, but I found myself more choked up watching Ticket leave the floor tonight than I did Paul ... Pierce just seemed ambivolent somehow, even apathetic in a way, and I think we'll find out why in the next few weeks. I love this team no matter what, but I don't see how anyone could be disappointed in KG right now ... he's been a freaking warrior.

I think he was ambivalent because he knows he lost a step and was still expected to carry a team. He tried and failed. Don't discredit what he has done because he has lost a step and that his time is up. But you are right when you say we will find out in the next two weeks. He knows his time is up for the Celtics and as anyone that loves something so much is disappointed. I thought the fans sucked and didn't give him the proper ovation when he exited.

KG was playing hard every single second, even if he didn't look for his shot at the end he did look to give his teammates great looks - and did. You can only criticize KG for missing shots in this series, which is basically the same thing as criticizing him for being old.

Same here. We need to stop relying on Pierce and KG, imo. We need Rondo (or someone of his caliber) and one other person to be the main people. Pierce and KG can come in and be the world's best role players and bail us out, but we can't rely on them every single game to win it for us.

Disappointed in the guy who already brought us a championship and has every right to walk away, yet still gives 110% every game on a bad foot 6 years later?

Shut up, man. We're nothing without KG. He is the heart of this team.

Wow ... did I discredit or even try to discredit anything he has done with this post?

That is something I have never done or will ever do ... The Truth is my favorite player, and will remain so, (along with KG), and I think you completely misunderstood me if you think I was trying to discredit my guy.

I was simply saying that his attitude seemed detatched and distant the last couple of games, almost like he was anticipating the end before it happened.

That's my impression, and I stand by it.

I was not attempting to discredit anything he has done ... not remotely.

LOL...

Just know that this team is lotto-bound next season without him.

KG is my favorite Celtic by far.

Its just disappointed for such a great player to not look for his offense down the stretch at all. Its just sad to see. People might rip Pierce but at least he was going for it.

What do you mean?  He hasn't looked for his offense this entire year.  Check out his shots per game...  Pierce didn't go for it.  He forced shots and made stupid turnovers especially late...

Sometimes I can't decide what would be more difficult:

(a) Trying to convince all these negativity-spouting muppets that this has been the best [dang]ed franchise in the league to root for over the last six years;

(b) Inventing a time machine to send said muppets into a permanent time loop from 1994-1999, so they can watch Rick Pitino and M.L. Carr coach Marty Conlon, Pervis Ellison, Tony Battie and Eric Montross for all eternity. Tell me how disappointing KG seems after a few thousand years of that.

I may have misunderstood you a bit, my apologies. And as I stated I think he is more distant with himself than he was with the team.

I just cannot seem to remember a time where i have been disappointed in KG on this team. He gives so much every game, I mean every worthless regular season game that he plays he goes 110%. How can be disappointed in someone that goes out there after 2 hours or stretching and getting ready and goes full blast every game?! I just can't i truly love what KG did for this franchise. KG is a WARRIOR in all meanings of that word. Thank you KG.

I might get some heavy criticism for this. But KG "zoned out" again.

He gets amped up and so aggressive........that he became passive again.

He was setting so many illegal screens late in the game and NEVER looked for his shot. Where was he?

He still hasnt figured out that sometimes he needs to CALM DOWN and GATHER HIMSELF and go to the post. Paul simply didnt have it tonight.

KG is 7 for 10 with the Celtics down just 4 at one point!!! Why not demand the ball! Why not be so reckless that you forget to involve yourself in the offense.

I'll let others handle the Pierce threads. But KG, we needed more "Duncan" out of you tonight and look for your shot or at least catch in the post and look for shooters.

*sigh*

end of rant.

The last thing I felt about this game was disappointment in KG. Homie collected 13.6 rebounds per game in this series, and he was the only guy hitting shots today. Everyone else, including Doc, couldn't get their shots to fall. KG did was he could and should . . . I don't expect more outta the guy nowadays.
