Celtics 1st pick 2014
Celtics 1st pick 2016
Celtics 2nd pick 2014
Celtics 2nd pick 2015

Bye-bye future  :o :o

in my opinion, 2nd round picks are worthless. Also, Demarcus Cousins would be our future.
Pekovic, Ginobli, Steve Kerr, Marc Gasol, Paul Milsap and Dennis Rodman say hi

Obviously there are productive 2nd round picks out there, but they are also pretty easy to come by if you want one. I think we would only really need to give up one 2nd anyway...and yes, I totally agree with bringing Cousins on board.

Btw, it's not much of a rumor - more just speculation by Bill Simmons - which is relieving to me.

you're right but the chances of finding a starter or a good back-up in the 2nd round of the draft are very low.
There's maybe 1 or 2 good 2nd round picks each draft.

So we can get one of them.

With the well connected and ethically challenged Mayor of Sacramento and former NBA star Kevin Johnson willing to do ANYTHING to keep the Kings, the Seattle deal is certainly in jeopardy!!

With teflon like Kevin apparently wears and his powerful connections with both David Stern and President Obama, my money is on the Kings STAYING put.

maybe but if we have to give up 2 extra 2nd round picks who most likely will not be good players in the league, for Demarcus Cousins, i would do it

I don't see any way that the Wizards give up John Wall for that type of trade package.

I do think the Kings could move Cousins but probably not to Washington. This is a weak draft class plus Washington would have a very good chance at being a playoff team next year with Cousins added to the mix so that pick's value isn't overly high either.

If Sacramento do move Cousins, I think it would be for a player already in the NBA. Either a talented youngster still on his rookie contract or a young veteran who is already at All-Star level (something like LaMarcus Aldridge).

Steve Kerr? You could only come up with 5 2nd rounders better than Steve Kerr?

Not sure how up-to-date you guys are on the Seattle/SacTown situation, but Kings-As-Sonics is hardly a done deal. ::)
I think it's pretty much a done deal... my impression of the situation is that they are dragging it out as long as possible so "Seattle steals team from Sacramento" doesn't overshadow the playoffs.  There's a binding agreement... i expect it to be official as soon as the offseason hits.

It's nowhere near a done deal.

Based on what?

SacTown Royalty and Sonics Rising have pretty comprehensive coverage. It's not even close to being a done deal.

That said, official word from the Finance committee is coming on Monday, and it would be very surprising to see their recommendation not line up with what happens with the league.

Cousins to Washington would be a great move for the Wizards. If the could keep a Wall, Beal, Cousins core that would be a great young future for the Wiz.

John Salmons (amnesty)

You can't amnesty a player you trade for.

Is this a rumor based on anything substantive, or Bill Simmons just riffing?

I would love it if we could get Demarcus Cousins.

Celtics:
Demarcus Cousins
John Salmons (amnesty)
Wolves 2nd pick 2013

Kings:
Derrick Williams
Fab Melo
Marshon Brooks
Celtics 1st pick 2014
Celtics 1st pick 2016
Celtics 2nd pick 2014
Celtics 2nd pick 2015
Other Team 2nd pick

Wolves:
Courtney Lee
Jordan Crawford

Nets:
Brandon Bass
Celtics 2nd pick 2016

Other Team:
Mirza Teletovic

I know we would be giving up a lot of draft picks but i think Demarcus Cousins is worth it. Also, it would free up some cap space. If this happens and Kevin Garnett retires, i think we would have enough cap space to sign Josh Smith. This has nothing to do with Cousins but i think if this trade happens, we could draft a guard with our pick this year. I really like Kentavious Caldwell-pope and think he is going to be a starter in the NBA.
A core of Rondo, Caldwell-pope, Green, Smith, Cousins, Bradley, and Sullinger looks really good and could eventually contend.

Why in god's name would the TWolves do this lol
