Have we seen KG for the last time in TD garden. I'm happy we showed some heart and pride today but I don't really see us winning in NY in game 5.

So what do you all think, will Kevin Garnett retire after the playoffs? Or will he come back for another season? This season, although his impact is still of the charge sometimes I feel that he is gonna retire somehow...

 Marc Stein:

"Celtics? One Pierce confidante says "no way" PP even thinks of retiring after NYK series. KG surely tougher call but I still say he plays on"

I do not know if Garnett will retire, but he can still contribute, still a top defensive player, and reducing their minutes with Rondo healthy, he and Pierce should not retire, but only he knows what will happen ...

He signed three years, but Doc said KG summer after summer would see what to do about his future.

I think if Pierce somehow stays, KG might continue to play

if somehow we could persuade them to become role players off the bench, it seems pretty clear they can't handle starter minutes anymore.

If they're both staying, then it means we're trying to contend, and will. If we're trying to contend, then please bring some real bigs in + a 3pt shooter. I'd love to have Morrow on this team.

There's no one they can bring in that would be a superior option to KG at center or even PF

I could see KG's decision being affected by who Ainge brings in to back him up at center.

And who plays the starting 4. Ideally Bass is shipped out, we get a starting 4, and Sully players the backup 4.

This. I don't think him and Paul are completely done, they just can't carry the team and be the main options anymore.

Let's see how he plays next game before making any judgments.

Well, my ideal pickup would be to have Elton Brand available for the full MLE (the Celtics would have to dump salary) and getting a big man rotation of KG, Bass, Brand, Sullinger, sometimes Green, and a third-string 7-footer (Melo if he is ready, otherwise, a Jason Collins-type).  I don't mind Bass starting, but I don't think he should be finishing most games.

I wonder if Mookie Blaylock and Anthony Mason will be available in the offseason.

Sad to say but I think this is his last year.
