We're in great shape.
Rondo is an allstar, and a starter at that. That's an add.
Green's ability is becoming clearer. Probably will become a nice #3 option at the 3. His contract isn't bad for that role.
Lee and Bass, despite being overpaid, are still competent role players in need of competent stars to surround them. Sully is probably in that group, too (but not overpaid, of course).
I like what we're seeing in Williams, Crawford, and Shav enough to keep them as roster filler next year.
Pierce has a nice contract to trade at the draft. We should hope to at least get a young player that can play.
KG probably takes the walk or something gets engineered around his wish to leave once Pierce is dealt. JET follows suit.
SOOOOO....
We have 2/3 of our top-3 for next year in Rondo and Green, and on reasonable deals (Green will never see that rebounding incentive!).
We have 4/4 of our next-4 role players in Bass, Lee, Bradley, and Sully.
We have some nice wild cards in Williams, Crawford, and Shav.
We're just one player away, one top-level scorer, preferably a big, and the roster is balanced and we compete.
The pieces available include Pierce and possibly KG, a 1st, and a nice collection of pieces to throw at the wall.
A starting, star-level Center, and we might contend next year, with or without Pierce and KG.
