Too bad. OKC is my second favorite team and were the clear cut favorites to make it to the finals in my opinion. They have to seriously consider using that Toronto pick on a PG now.

Quote
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star point guard Russell Westbrook will have surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee and be out indefinitely.
The Thunder announced the injury Friday.

Westbrook was hurt in Game 2 of the Thunder's playoff series against Houston on Wednesday night. Rookie Patrick Beverley lunged into him trying for a steal in the second quarter and his hip collided with Westbrook's knee.

Westbrook has never previously missed a game in his four NBA seasons.

Haha was just about to post this. That's insane. Although I wouldn't count the Thunder out yet. We'll see if Durant can put the team on his back.

They wont beat the Clippers. If the Spurs aren't healthy the Clippers will be in the Finals.. Wow!

I don't think they are done.

It just means that the ball will be in Durrant hands more.

It hurts, but they still have a good chance.

They've got a rough road ahead of them. People get frustrated with Westbrook shots, but I think they absolutely need his aggressiveness to create.

I still think Kevin Durant isn't assertive enough, and he's still really poor off the ball. We'll see how he reacts to this.

Side note: I wonder if the Thunder would ever consider firing Scotty Brooks. I look at the evolution of the Miami Heat offense, and then I look at a talented team like the Thunder that just keeps remaining the same.

Dont see how they beat CP3 and/or Tony Parker now.

They still have the best player on the floor.

Good points. Brooks is very overrated. The contract talks took forever for a reason b/c they're not sold on him.

Durant is not assertive enough. It's the biggest flaw in his game. They will miss Russell a lot.

Pulling for the lowly Clippers.

They've never been to a Finals, have they? Be nice to see them make it.

Will this not force him to be more assertive?

It's worth pointing out that a torn meniscus is the same injury MWP came back from 12 days after surgery.  That was a very fast recovery, but I wouldn't rule Westbrook out for the playoffs just yet.

But not the best team.

sounds good.

Pulling harder for the Heat not to make it since they've been more than enough times.
