it's pretty easy to play great defense when the refs refuse to call fouls on you

This. TP

Humble, for sure.  He basically described himself as the most versatile defender in NBA history.

He certainly enjoys displaying his ignorance.

I respect his talent, but give me a break do you think you deserve EVERY award that's given? He probably wants SMOY and ROY too.
Quote
"It sucks," James said Thursday as he prepared for Game 3 of the Miami Heat's first-round playoff series against Milwaukee. "It definitely sucks, though, finishing second. Who wants to finish second?"

Quote
"I guard everybody on the floor," James said while sitting at his locker in Milwaukee. "I don't know if it's one player in NBA history that's guarded 1 (point guards) through 5 (centers). It's over with now, but it's cool."

Quote
Heat coach Erik Spoelstra has also campaigned on James' behalf for more consideration as one of the league's top defensive players. Even before Gasol was officially announced as the award winner, Spoelstra said he would like to see James break through soon as the winner.

Wow I really feel sorry for Lebron, he's always getting overlooked in the league  ::)

This makes me like Lebron MORE.  The great ones HATE to finish second.

It should have been Lebron who torn his knee up instead of Rose. I can say I hate Lebron James more than other athlete ever. The guy is always looking for attention its so sickening! The stupid cell phone thing he brought up and keeps talking about how he has dropped his cell phone so he can concentrate 100% on basketball. Who the hell cares just shut and play! Why talk about it! Oh yea so people can say how committed Lebron is.

And to add to this rant Ray Allen can go f off! Talking about how he has never had so much fun playing basketball and enjoying his teammates, how the year went by the fastest! Ray Allen should never be welcomed in Boston again and not even for leaving the team but for the way he continues to put down his time here! Rant over!

beat me to it.

yeah, easy to become delusional about your defensive skills when you're never called for a foul.

The NBA needs to change the MVP award to the Lebron James Award. Finals MVP? Let's call it the Lebron James Award. Let's rename the league the LBA for the Lebron Basketball Association. Rookie of the Year should be Best New LeBron James. No more First Team All-NBA from now on it should be called the four other dudes and Lebron.

TP, this cracked me up! nicely done

My thing is, congratulate Gasol, and keep it moving. I'm sure Durant hates he came up 2nd in scoring and more than likely 2nd for MVP. Get over yourself and your greatness.

Did Jordan or Bird ever congratulate the winner and move on?

Maybe I am wrong, but I think they had a tendency to get p---ed off, and then work harder to make sure it doesn't happen again.

That's what the great ones do.

You can be p---ed, internally, but you don't have to make a case of it publicly.Like I said, just say good for Gasol,I have to worry about winning this championship. You don't have to run down a laundry list of the things you do on the court, everyone already knows and voting isn't going to always go your way.Because it comes off as whining, not being great.

The picture would be painted in the media totally differently if Rondo had complaints about his recognition in the league.

But Rondo isn't the best player in the world.

Lebron should have won the DPOY.

No one's saying he's the best player in the world and obviously other people felt Lebron shouldn't have been the DPOY, which he shouldn't have been. They took into account the defensive rating of the team and the individual defense of the player. Nobody likes a whiner because you don't win, suck it up and move on.
