In franchise history for the Celtics. Are the Knicks outcoaching us with their 2nd half adjustments?

I think tired old legs has more to do with it, without Rondo facilitating and getting guys open or taking over offensively for stretches we just don't have enough to keep up with them. We are gassed by the time the second half rolls around.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Call me on board with tired legs, and a lack of veteran resilience without KG in the middle to quarterback. We need 36 floor minutes and 30 good minutes out of KG. fouls and tired legs.

Honestly, the team we have on the floor right now isn't what I'd call a playoff caliber team in the first place.  The Eastern Conference is just such a joke right now that a really bad team can make the playoffs.

The 8th and 9th teams in the West -- the Jazz and Mavericks -- are both much better than the Celtics or Bucks.

That's a bridge too far for me, but with the way the Knicks are manhandling us in the second half, it's hard to disagree with. They're a 4th-6th team in the west in my mind.

KG worst offensive game I've seen him play, and this team is still incapable of shooting 3's.

Turrible

In the playoffs, I think the Knicks might actually be a better team than the Nuggets.  The Nuggets always have the same problem each year -- scoring a lot of points and having a lot of depth don't tend to get you very far in the playoffs.  The Knicks, meanwhile, have a great anchor in the paint, multiple savvy veteran ball-handlers, and the league leading scorer.  That will take you far if your defense is good, and the Knicks have a good defense.

I still agree with you that the Knicks would be the fourth best team in the West behind OKC, San Anton, and LAC.  But that has no bearing on what I am saying, which is that the Celtics would not have made the playoffs if they were a Western conference team, and that there is more than one team in the West that didn't make the playoffs which would be more competitive with the Knicks than the Celtics have been so far in this series.

I think tired old legs has more to do with it, without Rondo facilitating and getting guys open or taking over offensively for stretches we just don't have enough to keep up with them.

Stick a healthy Rondo out there and we're heading for a showdown with the Heat. He'd be single-handedly  putting up better stats than all the guards combined, KG and Bass would be more productive and we wouldn't be averaging more turnovers than assists.

Naw, we are a better team without him, remember, ridiculous.  I agree RR would help immensely right now.

The C's were struggling to be a .500 team with that lineup for the first half of the season.

I'd say they'd be either the fifth or sixth best. SanAn, OKC, Denver, LAC would round out the top four, Memphis and NY fighting for the fifth seed. First round exit. Playing all those Western teams all year definitely deflates your record.

And they were struggling to be a .500 team for the first half of 2011 when they went to game 7 of the ecf, and they were struggling to be a .500 team for the last 2/3 of the 2010 season and they went to game 7 of the finals. It's not like Celts fans haven't seen the exact same thing we saw this year multiple times before.
