Post Rudy Gay trade they had the third best record in the league. I don't mind the trade.
To me, the Grizzlies offense looks off. When they had their run two years ago (also without gay) it was made by an incredible disciplined team who ran EVERYTHING through the post. This team doesn't seem to be able to get the ball there and when they do there isn't a ton of time to spare.
My biggest issue with the trade is them taking on Ed Davis. He's actually a player I like, but in losing Gay and Ellington (and Mayo in the offseason) they desperately need some kind of shooting and perimeter scoring. So to me, they should've either insisted on getting back Terrence Ross or found a fourth partner (which wouldn't be too difficult because again, Ed Davis is a very nice young prospect).
