Well, as poorly as Terry has played this year, the playoffs have just started, this is just one game, and it's not like the rest of the team was good in the second half.
The Knicks adjustments worked out pretty well, they started hacking our ballhandlers and penetrators and getting the ball most of the time. Then we settled (as always) for the contested jumpshots. That was supposed to be our plan against them, but they managed to take advantage of it against our terrible offense.
Terry did take a bad decision when he tried to dunk it, he should've made a play, just like when the Captain, with Lee open, took a wild 3 when the Cs were up 7. Crawesome was too afraid to shoot, Courtney Lee was reluctant also, taking only a 3. Terry took some open shots and he missed them, but he isn't the reason the Celtics lost. Yes, if he made a couple of them it's a different game, but that can said about KG, PP and Green in the second half.
The real problem is the lack of playmaking, and I'd love to see less catch and shoot and more pick and roll from Terry. Right now, he needs to regain his shooting touch, but I'd rather put him in the game in the role Eddie House had in 2008-2009. Come into the game, take your shots, if you're hot, keep it, if not, go back to the bench.
Terry is playing decent D. He reminds me a bit of Nate, who was trying his best to not go completely crazy on offense, and busting his behind on D. But the bad thing for Terry is we all remember him in the pick and roll with Dirk, with his pull up shots in crunch time. So our expectations are too high.
It won't happen, but Doc should never have Bass as his center, Wilcox or Shav should be in the game wherever KG is on the bench. Then, when Bass is on the bench, Green should be at the 4, and T-Will should spell the Captain. Try TWill as your playmaker and let the bulldogs play full-court press.
