Yes as  Terryble said the Magic are currently TERRIBLE BUT! they have a great future!

C: Vucevic and Kyle O'Quinn
PF: Big baby davis and Andrew Nicholson
SF: Tobias Harris and Moe Harkless
SG: Aaron Afflalo
PG: jameer nelson

In the 2013 draft they have the 2nd overall pick and could end up with Noel(C) Smart (PG) or McLemore (SG)

They obviously need a PG and Smart could be that guy IDK

Altho we blew their doors off, I look at their roster and I am just amazed at the potential they have.

just my random thoughts for the day  8)

They don't have the second pick of the 2013 draft, they have the second most ping pong balls. They could easily end up 5th like the C's did in 2006-2007.

I'm not amazed at their potential though. Nelson is just about cooked himself, he's a hindrance right now. Affalo is a role player SG who isn't a future guy either. Of their four prospect guys I'm not sure if any can become an all-nba guy.

It would be nice to see Orlando get an upgrade at PG.

Watching Jameer Nelson stay on there as the starter is an eye-sore.

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
The only ones who have potential is Afflalo who at best is a role player, and Vucevic who could be a double double machine, and potential Allstar.

Nelson next year sucks, and his 3pt has been average, not to mention just seeing him play makes my head hurt.

Magic desperately does need a PG, but will Magic ever be insane? No. If you had someone like Dwight Howard, and surrounded him with a strong bench, and deep rotational role players, they could've gone further.

fair enough they have the second most ping pong balls lol thanks for the correction. TP

harris, harkless and Vucevic are all really good for their age and experience in my eyes.

Afflalo and Davis ARE role players and would be behind the 3 players mentioned above.

Jameer is well jameer, not a fan thats why I said they need a PG

but in the end They have a great young core with a ton of potential

Tobias Harris is the only prospect in the team I really rate. The only guy that looks to be an above average starter and maybe even top ten player (at his respective position) in the making.

The rest are unconvincing.

Although I am looking forward to seeing a bit more of Nicholson next year.

Also btw in the last 10 games Harris is avg 20 pts and 10 rebounds.

overall playing for the magic this year he is 17.1 pts and 8.7 rebs in 25 games, starting 18 of those....not bad at all

kinda reminds me of a Paul Pierce...same build 6'8" and 230 and can shoot

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Those names you bring up do nothing for me. If you want to see a team that's going to be insanely good just look at the Pistons. Don't believe the hype big men are still the name of the game. Drummond and Monroe are going to be beasts.

I thought Vucevic was one of the worst defensive players starting at center in the league this season. Lacking in both team defense and in man-to-man defense.

He is a nice skilled player offensively but only at a role player level. Hasn't shown enough ability to create his own offense. Only scores 12-13ppg. Not enough added offensive value to make up for how bad his defense is.

Strong rebounder.

Needs to show more defensive aptitude to be a starting center on a team with playoff hopes. The only reason he is starting now, playing big minutes and putting up big numbers is because he is on one of the worst teams in the league and he is one of the reasons why Orlando has struggled so mightily this year.

I have no idea what you are seeing. That list of players  is perpetual lottery. They have no foundation player. Their future looks horrid.

Agreed. In fact, It seems to me that almost every other lottery team has a superior top player to Orlando. Phx is probably the only exception.

The Magic have a bunch of young players, potential, i dont know about.

Davis is nothing more than a role player. Afflalo is a decent option on a bad team. Harris is getting lucky by getting playing time on a terrible team. Vucecic is clearly the best player on the Magic and isnt getting enough touches. Maybe they can turn some of these young guys into an all star that a team is looking to ship out. Or a Nelson and a couple youngs for a Brandon Jennings type deal. Other than that I dont see the Magic being good for a long long time.

The Magic could be very good in a few years if they:

1. Strike lightning in this year's lottery
2. Strategically use the gigantic TE from the Dwight Howard trade to gain additional prospects and picks
3. Judiciously use cap space in the coming seasons
4. Convert/consolidate their assets to land a true franchise player to build around

maybe i'm Magically crazy here lol i'm impressed with orlando's youth right now and altho they dont have a superstar currently, harkless or Harris could develop into one, and if you add whomever they draft this year, they have a nice young group of players that COULD play really well. SO.....insane might be the wrong word  :P

yes they need some defense and a solid pg and who knows. maybe they get Noel then they just need a pg:

C: Vucevic
PF: Noel
SF: Harris
SG: Harkless and Afflalo
PG: TBA
