he called it like he sees it.  respect

This is kinda how I feel. I'm not a big fan of the whole politically correct garbage. Be the man you are in private and in public and that's what terry does, respect.

Yeah he called it how he seen it, but he has been terrible himself thus far. You can be truthful about a team, but if you make those type of comments at least let it be after you hit a game winner or lead in scoring for that game.

Disagree. It's one thing if you can back it up and Terry can't. The Celts signed Terry last summer to be their 6th man. This season, he hasn't played well enough to even be considered the 66th man.

jet's performance, or lack thereof, has nothing to do with his speaking the truth about the magic. #fact

Once again the C's are close to .500. He has no leg to stand on.

Right! And if they had this record in the West they'd be watching the playoffs this year. I don't really care about the statement, it's just that it came from Jet (the one person that shouldn't be commenting on ANYONE'S mediocrity) and I'm exhausted with his talking. *Sidenote* They are pretty terrible in this game though..I do not look forward to that kind of bball from the C's

I guess he will never back up his talking...

Well the celtics as a team backed it up. He said the magic are terrible and they are playing like they're terrible because they are!

With the way he's played for a lot of the season, he doesn't have much right to call anybody else terrible.  Out of everybody on the roster, I think I've been disappointed with him the most.

this. times 5

So is Doc trying to save face because he got his coaching start in Orlando or was JET due for a rest?

Doc's suspension comment was tongue in cheek apparently. Just resting Jet for the playoffs.
Offense sells tickets, Defense wins games, Rebounds win championships.

Maybe you should do what you're paid to do (make open shots) before you open your mouth

Celtics perimeter players this season - 3PT%
J Green - 37.6%
P Pierce - 38.1%
A Bradley - 30.3%
C Lee - 35.8%
J Crawford - 29.9%
T Williams - 38.5%
J Terry - 37.2%

With the exception of Green and Pierce (who are our two best scorers right now) Terry has essenially been our next most consistent outside shooter.

Yes I know Terrence Williams has shot better, but he's played very few minute and put up few shots so it's too small a sample size to compare.

Terry has shot fairly well for his position (even 43% FG is passable for a 6'2" SG) and he's given us double figure scoring off the bench which is something we have sorely needed in the past.  IMHO he's played some pretty solid defense and has hit some pretty big shots for us.

In Terry's case it's not so much that he's not played well, it's just that his offense has been inconsistent.  He's had some great games and some mediocre ones, but he's been a valuable member to the team regardless and has made some game winning plays on both ends of the floor.

Regardless Jet is another PP/KG type.  He's the type of player who tends to elevate his game to another level in the playoffs, and I expect no less this season.  It's a shame we weren't able to keep Ray as well as signing Terry (as DA intended) because a backcourt of Jet + Ray would have been devestating and much more dangerous than Jet + Lee, but alas it is what it is.

We really are not the premium shooting team without Ray, sadly.

You guys are funny complaining about Jason Terry about how he's supposed to be playing like X when he should be playing like Y...

The dude we've seen is the dude we paid for. He had a horrible stretch for a while, but his FG% is better than last season. His 3P% is pretty much the same since last season, and higher than the preceding 3 seasons. In the prior two months he's shot about 46% from the field, and over 40% from 3s. I don't know about you guys, but I'm quite happy with having that sort of player off the bench for us.

I don't know who the heck you guys thought we were getting, but Jason Terry is playing like the guy we went and acquired.

You do realize though that our FG% is better this season than the prior season right? You also realize that our PPS is higher too right?

Our 3-point shot is not the same, but not that far off either.

JET has been shooting 37.5 from the field and 29.2% from the 3 in April. These are downright atrocious numbers. Using season averages sometimes doesn't present the full picture especially if the player is regressing or declining as the season goes on. Now with 3 games rest, he could be very rusty for the playoffs. He is known to pick up during the postseason, but he has shown to be very underwhelming this past two months. This should be a slight concern.

You talk about not presenting the full picture while only bringing up terrys numbers in april lol. The fact of the matter is terry is producing the same as hes always produced.

*At least for the last few years* Like someone else stated, Idk who the hell you thought you were getting when we signed jason terry. Hes a streaky shooter who can hit big shots, the end.

the full picture is actually breaking it down and noticing trends. the trend is showing a decline. that is the full picture. he has gotten worse as time goes on and right now, before the playoffs, is the worst time to  be going through this type of play especially with all the talk he has been doing. I was never a fan of this signing because of his *last few years*. He was not worth a three year full MLE contract. And what really sucks is that he has no trade value, so you can't really get rid of him. I would love to be wrong and he shows up in the playoffs. But looking at the trends, it appears to be wishful thinking.
