.....anyone else see anything wrong with this picture?

Not to mention Miami has already clinched the 1 seed so they actually have less to play for than the Celtics

And this is what I was talking about with my "culture change neeeded" thread of a couple weeks ago.

I know the response I'll get is "why should KG and Pierce play and risk an injury which will cause them to miss the playoffs?"

But, I STILL think it looks really bad when the other team's starters are playing and yours aren't.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
It'd mean more if they were the same age, but they're not.

I see nothing wrong with sitting Pierce and KG.

It's the other guys on the roster who need to contribute in the playoffs, so they might as well use these last few games to sharpen up.

The "culture of this team" is veteran team who saves everything they have for the playoffs.  It might not be appealing, but it is who we are.  The regular season is always "bleh"... and then we kick it into gear when stuff matters.   It makes for a boring regular season, unfortunately... and I stopped watching the games in mid March after we fell short against Miami.  Not because I was down on the team... I just can't get too amped up about watching a team coast.  The games are about as compelling as the pre-season (which i generally skip as well unless we have a young hotshot rookie)...

Who needs the frustration.  I'm sorry to those fans who have watched this team over the past few weeks go at 60% speed.  It was predictable, avoidable... and the ends will justify the means here.  We'll give the Knicks everything we got... and we'll probably push that series to 6 or 7 games.

I wonder if fans who paid good money for these tickets will be upset?

Scratching my head as to why their big 3 is playing to be honest...they've been sitting games themselves lately and see no reason for them to be playing

It's pretty standard practice to rest your vets the last few games of the season... when the games literally do not matter.

I actually don't mind for a different reason, no reason to allow the Heat gain more confidence against us, this way if we lose it doesn't feel as good for them. ;D

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
This will be a good test for Jeff Green. No Pierce and KG so he'll get all the touches he wants. Time to see if he can score against a quality defense without PP or Garnett being a decoy. He's coming off two consecutive weak games so I don't think he should get a pass for another sub-par outing.

Don't feel sorry.  They've still been fun to watch (at least, to me, they have).

I feel sorry for you.  Heck, you've missed the blossoming of Shav Randolph.

I agree that it looks bad, but I think the team it looks bad for is Miami. The members of Miami's Triumvirate of Evil have been missing games left and right for the last week or more, so why are they all playing now, tonight, against Boston? I think it's because they see an opportunity to pound the KG- and Pierce-less Celtics like they're a JV squad, just for grins and giggles, and just to annoy Boston fans. I'm thinking Miami in a landslide, and they'll all be smiling and yucking it up like they just had their way with the '86 Celtics. Annoying.

Miami hasn't been, so Boston better not be.

I'm not going to predict a win, but I think we can keep it close.

Miami did it against San An...

And plus, it'll make the win all the much sweeter.
