(let's face it many players on non-contending teams mail it in this time of year)

??? Just the opposite. Players on non-contending teams know that it's exhibition time ,and are doing all they can in hopes of creating good impressions on other teams. Everybody's looking for their next contract and nobody's "mailing it in".

Really? Tell that to the fans in Portland, Orlando, Phoenix, Cleveland, and some other towns who have seen their teams just stop playing any defense or team ball and lose ball games at ridiculous paces over the last 2 months or so.

Yes, really.

Portland - Kyrie, LMA
Orlando - Harris, Vucevic
Phoenix - draft picks
Cleveland - Kyrie, Thompson

They've all got futures.

But anyways, are you suggesting that players are playing bad on bad teams so that they can have bad stats so that they won't get a big contract? I'm sure most NBA players would like big contracts... (if any)

Lucky, why did we trade this guy again? Was it after drinking too much Canadian Club and Kokanee?

Last years Rockets/Boxers had John Henson and had him playing behind Serge Ibaka, Kenneth Faried, Jonas Valanciunas, and Birdman Anderson. Nice future front court, IMHO.

Vucevic is probably renowned around the league and all fan bases as the next Kevin Love.

I think you have to be a three-point shooter to credibly be called the next Kevin Love.

It was a wacky game and a few big nights don't make a career, but there is a a pattern here with Henson. Here are the games which he has played at least 19 minutes:

Quote
MIN    PTS    REB
41      17      25
22        6        7
25      11        6
22      10        6
22      19        6
19      12      11
26        6      13
27      11      15
23      20       9
19      10       7
27      17      18
---
24.8   12.6   11.2

Now granted, he probably gets more burn when he is playing well, but that's 11 pretty solid outings averaging a double-double in less than 25MPG from a rookie who also has something like 20 DNPs.

Especially if he bulks up a little, I think he has a reasonable chance at being a 15/10/2 type guy, which is pretty special.

Disclaimer: he's on my keeper league squad =)

Wondering, after watching the Magic tonight, if people now see why John Henson's stat line wasn't all that impressive?

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.

In terms of rebounding, I mean.
I like Marcus Smart

Larry Sanders is entering restricted free agency soon. I actually thought Henson was a redundent pick at the time but if they like him enough maybe they try to move Sanders this summer.

LARRY SANDERS!!! Could help fill the defensive void left by KG once he hangs up his spurs for good.
