  • GOT IT!!!
C's have beat one team with a pulse the last month. At this point in the season everyone is ready for the playoffs but does that excuse their play? I can't help but think we are in for loud thud in the first round.  :-\

Brooklyn is a really bad matchup. They are the last team I wanna see us play in the east.

Players were injured, there wasn't much motivation, new players were getting adjusted.

I'm slightly annoyed by how losing to a playoff team always seems to lead to a discussion about a first-round exit. If we won against every playoff team, we wouldn't be here today.  ::)

It's been "it" for a while now.

The injuries, age of the best players, and lack of talent outside of the top 5 have finally caught up with the team.

I just want this disappointing season to be over.

I rarely post about/or during games because when we lose there is always nonsense and people panicking immediately regular season and playoffs are different, if the Celtics get blown out by Knicks in the 1st game in the playoffs that is when you should get worried, now really is not the time to panick

Totally agree with you ronaldo! TP!

I'm disappointed and saddened by all these pessimistic remarks!

Hopefully the Knicks put us out of our misery the first round.

I don't know that the OP was all that pessimistic. I think he just trying to be realistic. I think everybody will and should be pleasantly surprised if the Celtics are able to win a series or two. I have followed the Cs for my entire 33 years of life far more than any religion and always am hopeful. Let's just enjoy watching these guys play their hardest and [if/when we do lose in the playoffs] regroup for a healthy year next year.

There's no panicking or pessimism, just reality.  This was always bound to be "it" the minute Rondo went down for the year.

I accepted this fate long ago.  Sure, I still watch, and root for the team to win, but I see no reason to expect anything but a 1st round exit.

Agree with you too!

I don't think one regular season loss will decide our playoff hopes.

Celtics' "playoffs" was that one month following Rondo's injury. They gave their all just to keep themselves in the playoffs and played some pretty good basketball during that stretch...
But that was it, their key players are old and they're totally gassed right now! It would be a fun ride if we had Rondo and Sully and Barbosa, but we don't... I suggest everybody to accept this fact and enjoy possibly (knock on wood) the last 8-9 games of Paul Pierce/Kevin Garnett's careers as Celtics!

I just don't see them winning the championship.

Yes, I know that anything is possible once the playoffs roll around.  They can go on a crazy, miracle run and win it...but realistically, evaluating other teams, our situation, etc., what are honestly the chances of this happening?

I root for them and I truly hope that somehow, someway they can win the NBA title this season, but just not fully, 100% buying into it.  LeBron can single handedly destroy this team, if we happen to meet up with MIA again.  I'm not saying the C's can't give the Heat fits or pose a serious hurdle for them, but the cards are just way too stacked against the Celtics in that series and probably almost any series with the situation this team is in.  I can't see them making it through 4 rounds, having to go through NYK, whomever they would play in round 2, MIA and then most likely one of the Western Conference powerhouses.  A lot of luck is going to be needed, many things have to fall into place.

I honestly hope I am wrong.  We will see.

Sorry for being a pessimist, but I just don't want to expect something and then be let down.  If they win, great..I was wrong, but I'll be happy about it.  If not, it won't sting as much.
