Rather than comparing Fab Melo's development to anyone else's, you really need to take it in the context of what was expected out of him when he was drafted and I'd say he has progressed at the rate that he was expected to.

I do think its reasonable to assess his progress and say whether or not he is on track even if its way too early to decide whether he was a bust.

There was an outside chance that Fab could have played some NBA minutes this season purely as a fill in and not adding any significant value but using his size and length to clog the middle in garbage time and when KG had to sit. But he is too slow on his rotations and still getting his basketball IQ up to an acceptable level, which I think everyone realistically expected.

Fab may end up being a dud, but that was an acknowledged risk when he was taken. It was the classic physical prowess over talent decision. Give him some time to continue his development.
