Stern made this a huge problem by fining the Spurs... I don't see a problem with resting your best players but the fact that it's now a problem is on his hands

who cares?!  if they want to rest their guys for playoffs, so be it.

Exactly. The more troubling thing is why Stern isn't doing or saying anything about it. Is there a double standard here? Miami can do what the Spurs were fined for earlier? Stern shouldn't have fined San Antonio in the first place.

i agree

If the Spurs want to rest their players on a fourth game in five nights, so be it.

Problem is, one of them gets a $500k fine and the other gets SQUAT. I don't mind them sitting, but if they don't get a fine, it's just not fair. You can't just fine the Spurs $500k and do nothing when the Heat do it. Four games in five nights is tough too, and Duncan/Parker are old. LeBron? Wade? CHALMERS? Stupid is my only word.

if u want to debate the hypocracy of the nba fining the spurs and not the heat, i agree with u 100%.

however the heat resting their players, i have no problem with.  it isnt about resting your "old" players so the are fresh for the playoffs...its about resting ur best players. the team should do what they feel helps the team

Also, we've repeatedly sat our best players in past seasons without ever being fined.  Anyone who wants to complain that the Heat aren't being fined for this needs to apply that to our franchise too.

Then pay back the Spurs, because the situation isn't too different (?) ???

The Spurs wouldn't have been fined if they weren't playing for the Heat.

The Heat played the Spurs and received no fine. Isn't Heat vs. Spurs the same matchup as Spurs vs. Heat?

The Spurs wouldn't have been fined if they claimed their guys were injured instead of openly saying they were healthy scratches and sending them home so the league couldn't stop them.

it's kind of embarrassing that the Heat are beat the Spurs and are now beating the Knicks without Wade, Lebron, and Chalmers.

Doesn't really matter imo.

of course it matters. Everyone is complaining that they sat their best players, yet they are beating good teams who are both playing for playoff standings

I don't think it's embarrassing. Ray, Battier, Haslem, Norris, Miller and Anderson make up one heck of a group of role players with a quasi superstar in Bosh.

I think it tells me about how well that team is put together and coached and about how mature they are about handling business and staying competitive when their players have to miss games.

This is terrible! Another national television game... another benching of the stars! We could've seen number 1 vs. number 2 face off... Knicks are on an 8-game win streak... Chalmers-Felton had a war of words yesterday....

This is absolutely terrible. I hate Spoelstra, even if it's for the bettering of the team. You can't just sit out two big, national TV games! And the NBA obviously won't fine them.  >:(

All I can say is the Heat better be getting fined, just like Stern fined the Spurs for sitting Parker, Duncan, and Ginobili against the Heat.

They should get fined but wont. I dont really think it matters we are doing the same thing with Pierce and KG.

As to the number 1 vs number 2 face off. Miami is ahead of the Knicks by like what 11 games? Not much of a marquee match up in my eyes.
