If you want to make an argument people will take seriously, don't include conspiracy in the title of the video.

They're in the 9 spot right now anyway, and even if they do make the playoffs they're an easy first round exit against SA or OKC. So what difference does it make?

A whole lot of difference my friend.

Put a team that is actually deserving to be there, do not spoon feed the 2nd most storied franchise in the NBA.

The NBA has lost a lot of its credibility, its time to gain some of it back.

So they can get swept by SA or OKC? Of course the Lakers are going to get superstar calls quite often, but there's hardly sufficient evidence to come to the conclusion that the NBA is rigging their games on a nightly basis to get them into the eighth spot.

You haven't been watching most their games then.
They won't get swept that easily, they match up well with SA and OKC.
Plus you know how teams turn up another notch in the playoffs.
There could be some upsets specially in the Western Conference.
And if you think that there's no "conspiracy" going on in the NBA, you haven't been watching much of it I take.

Deserving teams should advance to the playoffs, at least in my opinion.
I don't think the Lakers are deserving to make it past the regular season. They just haven't been getting it done this year.

I was referring to another team getting the eight spot and getting swept.

I'm assuming you mean "isn't a conspiracy?"

I watch plenty of it, it's the same argument people have been making since the Kings-Lakers series in 2002. I'm not saying biased officiating and questionable calls don't occur from time to time, particularly favoring certain teams or players. However I don't think the NBA is rigging Lakers games with enough frequency to get them into the eighth spot. It would take blatantly biased officiating on a nightly basis to do that, which would be undeniably obvious. The NBA is not going to go that far and further tarnish their already damaged reputation.

I know I'm not going to change you perspective and vice versa, so I'll leave it at that.

Tomorrow's Dallas/Lakers TNT game is going to be incredible.  I want to make a game thread for it so we can all root against the Lakers.

LA still has to play the Grizzlies, Clips, Golden State, Houston and San Antonio after the Dallas game (along with some bad teams).  Dallas has Denver twice and Memphis once, then a bunch of garbage teams.  If the Lakers can barely get by the Kings with the refs 6th manning for them, I really don't see how they are going to make the playoffs.  I would like Dallas to make it in over the Jazz just because I live on the West Coast and I think Dallas/SA will be more entertaining for late games.  Plus how great would it be if Dirk could get some karmic retribution for his infamous Golden State loss?

I would be more worried about a conspiracy for them to win the draft lottery at this point, there's no way they're winning a title even if they get in.

And when the calls are so blatantly wrong, as this video depicts a small sample of them, people will still talk it down.

Quite simply the lakers do seem to get blatantly wrong calls in their favor, in a lot of the games they play in.

So, my question is, how much more obvious does it need to be before you notice that in this second half of the season, the lakers are getting a hand from the officials?

  • Everyone's excited for the new era.
While that video shows legitimately biased calls, the reason the Lakers are going to make the playoffs is because they're too good NOT to make it.

They're more talented than Portland, Dallas, and Utah.

I wasn't directing it at you which is why I said the title of the video. I just think people tend to overdo it with conspiracy these days, using that word instantly reduces your credibility.

"I WANT the Fakers to make the playoffs. Too many good teams for them to get through to make the Finals, with or without the WWE officials help.

My nightmare is that they don't make the playoffs and "somehow" get "lucky" in the Lottery.

That would really suck."
