My pick is Kyrie, but he is injury prone, he's been out a couple of times in his first 2 seasons in the league, last season and this current season.

But he is so talented and cold blooded, I see a mix of Chris Paul and Derrick Rose in his game.

I just wish he didn't get injured as much.

  • Everyone's excited for the new era.
Irving, without question, is and will end up being the best out of all three.

I like watching Lillard the most, but that's probably because I don't watch Washington and Cleveland a whole lot, and Portland is one of my favorite non-Celtic teams.

All three are very good players, though.

if wall develops a solid go to jumper and adds 3 point range i think he will have a great career. out of the 3 Irving is defs more scoring focused, but its not like he has alot of other go to scorers on that team to rack up assists.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Kyrie Irving no doubt. He's a superstar now and will only get better.

John Wall to me is still a "remains to be seen" but I put him second. If Wall can consistently hit jumpers, he can be a much better player than Irving (yes I said it). He's WAY more athletic compare to the two. His court vision I think is also better than both. With his physical gifts and maybe the right situation and coaching, he can be a lockdown defender, I don't see Lillard and Irving being one (not saying they are bad defenders) so my judgment on John Wall is still out. But Irving is miles ahead of him at the moment.

Damian Lillard is a multiple All Star player, but I think Wall is better, by a bit.

Lillard is my favorite of the three although Kyrie probably has the highest ceiling, health permitting.

FWIW here is a list of players that won rookie of the month 5 or more times (there are only 6 months that are awarded....note a few seasons were lockout shortened...also note starting in 2001-02 they did it by conference whereas previously they didn't so it was twice as hard to do it before that......MJ and Hakeem probably would have done this nowadays but back then they split it...this award didn't start till 81-82)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA_Rookie_of_the_Month_Award

David Robinson in 89-90

Duncan in 97-98

Bron and Melo both in 03-04

Chris Paul 05-06

Kevin Durant 07-08

Blake Griffin 10-11

Lilliard

In a funny quirk Irving won December even though the season started Dec 25 in a shortened year....that year he won 4 out of 5 months so you can almost put him on this list

Irving for sure.

Btw to those saying Lillard over Wall, Wall is two months younger than Lillard.  Doesn't invalidate the opinion but just saying that's an important thing to recognize.  He still has a ton of potential.

I just watched Wall's highlights vs. the Pacers.

I'm very, very impressed to say the least. He can get to the rim and there's no stopping him. He's a franchise player and top-10 PG too.

But he's definitely a franchise player.
