This reminds me of the two years before KG and Ray arrived. Paul Pierce, only much older, trying to will a bunch of hyperactive knuckleheads to a win, any win. Tons of turnovers, hectic play. Fans waxing poetic about their binkies and hopefuls.

Crawford and Bradley are some combination of Tony Allen and Ricky Davis. Our hopeful lofty expectations of Jeff Green are like Al jefferson. A bunch of non rebounding big guys.

Must be a bad flash back for Pierce...

I said just about the same thing while talking to a friend the other day. With all these injuries, we've turned into 2006-2007 Celtics (maybe slightly better). All I can say is that we've been outplayed for almost ever minute of several recent games.

Can't we just bring Gerald Green back?

The Truth

I always said when I left the Celtics, I could not go to heaven, because that would
be a step down. I am pure 100 percent Celtic. I think if you slashed my wrists, my

Although Jeff hit an awesome shot at the end the Captain did it all again tonight.   He is putting up Larry Bird level assists and the like.

Poor bubby. Putting 15 million away to be one of the best at your craft in the twilight of your career must be so hard.

I don't buy it.

how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck was chris bosh?

I buy it.  Pierce isn't thinking about the money right now, he's thinking about his chances for another championship slipping away.  He's always cared about winning.

Poor Paul Pierce ?

dude is paid..

Even people who get paid well for their jobs, can be unhappy with their current situation. Sounds like jealousy from you and others. Money doesn't buy happiness. He can be happy he gets paid to ball, but bummed that he is stuck with a bunch of chuckers (albiet his many turnovers didn't help either)

However, I am by no means crying for Paul Pierce. The game last nite just looked like he was back in 2006, only he was old. I was going for a Hot Tub Time Machine kinda thing. Paul Pierce goes back in time and discovers that Ainge never traded for Ray or Garnett...

I don't think he's unhappy nor do I feel sorry for him. He's had an amazing career, he's a lock for the hall of fame and will retire as a Celtics legend. Yes it would have been nice to be a legit contender this year, but realistically even without all the injuries we would have had a very difficult time getting past the Heat. He's already got a ring which is more than many other great players can say. I also think retiring a Celtics is much more important to him than contending for a championship elsewhere.

This is clearly still a much better team than the 06-07 team, and it's not as if KG is out for the season and it's just the Pierce and a bunch of scrubs show again. He'll be back in no time and it'll be back to the same above average but not incredible team we've seen since Rondo went down.
