Celtics playing for 8th seed?

First off I don't think this team is intentionally trying to lose. But based on the effort over the past few games it doesn't seem like they are trying to win either. Now if it is championship of bust for this team, you know you have to go through the heat right? Well when would be the best time to play them? I would argue the first round, assuming their streak continues. The heat will continue to play their starters for as long as their historic streak continues, which means they won't rest for the playoffs. So instead of letting them play two crap teams and sweeping them and then meeting them in the ECF after we have two tough series (assuming we get that far), I would choose to play them when we are freshest and they are battling every night to keep their run going. Plus, if we lose we can end this awful year quickly and rest up for next year.

I say as long as the heat keep on winning, lets aim for the 8th seed and either make history or become history.

I think we are playing for 7th. Face the Knicks in the first round, most likely the Pacer round two, save the Heat for the ECF.

But you're right.  I really want the Heat in the first round.  No point in waiting.  Either put us out of our mystery or we shakeup the league by upsetting them.

Like I said I really don't believe they are losing intentionally, but I really don't think they would be upset with the heat in the first round. I would agree with you though that this lack of effort is pathetic, and whether they win or lose in the future I would like to see them actually try

and let's not forget game 7 of the finals vs the lakers where they would have won if a number of odd things didn't happen in the 4th quarter. They stunk up the regular season that year too.

And you're missing my point (or proving it.) If the Celtics played better during the regular season, they could've possibly had home court advantage in teh finals. If that was the case, then the Celts would've had a MUCH better chance of winning the finals with HC advantage then being on the road (see 2008.)

Also, staying on the topic of the 2010 finals, either you won or you lost. Well the Celts lost, right?
