i disagree that it is bone spurs or fracture. I do believe it is an ankle injury.

Theyre being "overly cautious" about the injury. Danny Ainge describes it as sore.... I dont believe this to be serious at all, i just see them taking steps to rest KG for the playoffs.

It happened without twisting his ankle, and the team is unclear in their statement as to what it actually is. Its very likely to be bone spurs or a stress fracture.

If it was just an ankle sprain they would have said so right from the start

On the other hand, could it be that the C's could fall to the 12th worst record in the league, but still make the playoffs and get a series in against Miami.

If KG somehow comes back, he'll be rested and Doc will have been forced to play his backup bigs--all good preparation for the playoffs.

If he doesn't, the C's still get good experience fighting through a playoff series AND a good pick in the draft.

I agree.  There's a reason they're not simply describing this as a sprained ankle.

It's a blessing in disguise. Now we don't have to play Miami in the second round! (I fully expect us to avoid the eighth seed.

it could be kevin's annual i am taking a break injury (look back)
could be a jammed ankle, when you don't have a lot of cushion left in joints it happens pretty easy (i know)
as long as he is healthy for playoffs (and pierce) we'll be ok, that doesn't mean good mind you
i think the team has done a really good job considering green and wilcox are coming back from heart surgery and rondo, sully and barbosa are gone for the year!
good chance to see SHAV  ;) and white get some big man minutes, both guys show some promise
if kg really is injured i don't see him playing after this season, the small injuries keep coming and he is coming off major knee surgery not that long ago, if he does retire that will free up some $ for a top notch big

I think people forget that he's on the older side of the NBA. Hitting almost 20 years of wear and tear. Heck, Im 35 and at times when I get up things don't move as smooth as they did 10 years ago. Or there are days were out of know wheres my foot hurts or ankle or shoulder is soar (from prior injuries). didn't do anything to cause the pain, just wake up that way.

So until they say some thing different or he doesn't show in the first round, Im just going to leave it as he's mending some old muscles and joints getting ready for the play offs. I mean the guy plays 100% all the time, the fact that he plays at that level is impressive at his age.

Right about now, I am already thinking of how we can move on from Garnett after the season is over and get Kevin Love this summer.

Sounds to me like he wants out of Minnesota.

Too bad Kevin McHale isn't in Minny anymore.

Hey! Don't you know that everybody and their brother wants to drop what they're doing and play for Doc in Boston?? ;D

All joking aside, I was referring to possibly trading for Kevin Love.

Of course, problem there is do we have anything that Minny wants?

Maybe Rondo, Avery, Sully and Green for Rubio and Love (not even sure if the money works, just pulling that out of my you know what, lol.)

Hey,

You guys remember pre-All-Star KG was all like

"Yall don't know what I know"

and yall were all like...zOMG KG IS RETIRIIINNNNGGG

and I was all like 'He probably has an injury or ailment or something'

and yall were all like 'nerrrr that's dermmmbb'

no?

I do.

You don't just get a swollen ankle out of the blue unless you have GOUT which I'm fairly certain a guy playing ball wouldn't get.

It's all a master plan to get a 6/7 seed imo. Unfortunately, this will never be admitted.

now sure how we get a 6 seed when we're flirting with becoming an 8th seed.
