Let me start off by saying I always believed that you should play to win every game, and try to get a better seed no matter what, in any sport.
So, the division crown is almost certainly going to the state of New York, it would be very very hard to leapfrog both the Nets AND the Knicks. While the seeds 5-6 are still obtainable they do not give you home court and the Celtics are by far the team that needs it the most, being the worst road team in the Eastern playoff picture.
That same playoff picture is set. While only the top four teams have clinched a spot, Hollinger's NBA Playoff Odds gives the Bucks 99.8% chance of making the playoffs (Celtics 100%).
Seeing the Grizzlies thread, many people are having a very tough time sitting through the games recently, much like myself. Our postseason hopes rest on our two Hall of Famers, so should Doc start giving KG and PP serious rest until the end of season? Reduced PT, maybe 3 or 4 games off, disregarding the fact that it would make it more difficult to get a better seed, resulting in more losses?
Sure they would probably face the Heat in the first round, but hey, at least they would give them their best shot.
Plus they would get the 15th/16th pick which may not make a huge difference, but picking 4 or 5 spots earlier certainly doesn't hurt.
