The Heat fear five teams:

(1) Celtics
(2) Spurs
(3) Thunder
(4) Nuggets
(5) Grizzlies

in no particular order.

I don't think the Heat fear OKC at all.
They did a gentlemens sweep of them last year and they absolutely cannot beat the Heat.

Well, they've already beaten all 5 of those teams at one point or another this season so I tend to doubt that.

None of them came easy. And each win required lots of effort. Nuggets win came from a Allen bailout. Grizzlies' front-line is tough to battle with for 7 games. Thunder for almost obvious reasons, IMO. Celtics because of matchups and Spurs because they nearly got wooped by bench players.

But if the Heat aren't scared of these 5, they're not scared of anybody. I think these are the five teams that give the Heat the most trouble.

Yes and I believe that they want Boston to finish up in the Six seed and lose to the Knicks, Nets Indiana, Chicago, or Atlanta in an early round matchup.

Not sure if they want to gamble in Jeff Green going off on them for two weeks plus have Jason Terry hit threes and Courtney Lee and Avery Bradley bothering the heck out of their guards and three point shooters. I see the matchup problems the Celtics cause on the Heat.

No Boston = Cakewalk to the 2013 NBA Finals.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

Honestly, I've never bought into the whole "this team is scared of that team" concept.  I don't believe there's a team out there that is actually scared of any team (at least I would hope not).  You don't deserve to be a professional ball player if you're scared.

No.

They have no reason to be.

Green has been a LeBron-stopper in two consecutive games already (just as good defense on LBJ as that of any player in the league)

Like the commentators said: we're the only team in the league that plays small-ball and succeeds vs. the Heat. We're the only team that can play them at their own game.

What a foolish notion.  They've knocked out us out of the playoffs two years in a row.

Lebron in 2010 was scared of the Celtics.

I think it's fair to say "the Celtics aren't afraid of the Heat", or "the Celtics are the only team in the NBA that doesn't fear the Heat" even, but to say the Heat who have crushed us the past couple years are afraid of us?  Yeah right.

A little. I think the last two games brought back some uncomfortable memories.

In the sense that they respect us yes - probably more than any eastern conference team since the pacers don't have a closer. You think they worry one iota about the Nets or Hawks? Are the Heat shivering in their boots. Not a chance. There's a lot of playoff experience there along with the rings and talent. I sure wish we had Rondo though. A real PITA IMO, but he steps up in the playoffs and now Green and Bradley have stepped up their games.  I think if we were healthy we would be a contender instead of just having a puncher's chance.

I love how the poll results don't reflect at all the tenor of the comments in the thread.

alright
here's the thing with this whole 'scared' thing...

we give them the biggest fight. heats past 5 games have been blowouts. i don't think the heat have had to deal with a person giving them 40+ at all this season.

paul pierce is a shell of his former self, but he's still paulie. kg, the same. and jason terry is a big. shot. maker. you cannot deny any of these things.

we took them to 7 games last year. not exactly a 'crushed' us type of thing.
year before that, they win only because (maybe...arguably) wade helped in dislocating our PGs elbow...and I'm not trying to play the what if game...but whether or not the OKC games were close...Heat still won in 5.

we took them to 7 with a hobbled Ray, gimpy PP and a bench that scored less than 10 points each game. all of these things have significantly improved. you're telling me they're not at least worried about us?

Stopper? Stopper!!!! The guy had 37 points and hit the game WINNING shot. So how was he stopped?

Do the Heat respect the Celtics, I'd say yes. Do they fear us? No, not at all.
