Just say it out loud:
"Jason Terry got completely owned on that play"

Can't we just bring Gerald Green back?

that dunk was really good.  but i love the fact terry contested it, regardless of the outcome. i hope he contests the next one and doesn't let this hype deter him from challenging anyone

Terry messed up by having the ball easily stolen but then contested right to the very end on a 3vs1. That is the sort of dedication to defence I like to see, wasn't embarrassed in the slightest on this one.

Honestly I was far more impressed by Avery's rundown block on Cole.

Its pretty much impossible to get owned on a dunk when its a huge guy on a tiny guy. Prettysure I could do the same tthing with a mini ball on a 7 foot hoop on a 3rd grader.

such a stupid phrase "got owned" when talking abiut a slam dunk is.

To me you only get owned on a dunk when a guy is playing you one on one, you blow by him and slam it.  Terry is guarding three guys and Lebron gets a running head start against a guy who is shorter, weighs a lot less, and is off balance trying to recover from a pass.  How is that impressive?

Not impressed.

At least do it against someone your own size.

In game dunk the impressed me:  Starks over Jordon and Grant.

In that case, you see two defenders who actually have a chance to stop that play.

Lebron dunked on a guy that 6 inches shorter and 80 pounds lighter.  That's a grown man owning a 6th grader.

I'll give credit where it's due - great play by Wade to get back in the play and steal the ball from Jet. Great passing to find James with a head of steam.  And great finish by James.

That dunk was NASTY.

But my overriding reaction was - NO WAY James stares down Terry after that dunk if KG was playing.  If he did, there would have been hell to pay.

You know KG will have words with James sooner or later regarding that stare.

this.

thought the same thing when I saw it happen.  Bron dunked on someone smaller and out of position.   thought he added to his **** persona by staring down at JET like bron actually did something impressive.  bush-league move

i dont think terry got owned, nor do i think brandon knight got owned when he contested deandre jordan. these are dedicated ball players playing defense.

I think most fans overreact over certain dunks. Nobody looks at the defense, all they see is a player getting dunked on.

Still, it amazes me when the guy is smaller and has no real chance of blocking it. Now if LeBron dunked on Green that would be a different story. For example, seeing Green dunk over Jefferson who is taller than him is more impressive.

Yeah this is where my lack of impressiveness comes in. Lebron James weighs about 100 more pounds than Terry is probably what, 5 to 6 more inches taller, and can jump about a foot and a half to two feet higher... If he cant dunk over a six foot dude then he has a problem. All he got out of that play was a well deserved technical foul. Nothing impressive in my book.

Next time we play the Heat, I want to see Jason Terry dunk over Lebron James.

Now, that would be impressive.

Great dunk.

If it was Jeff green on Mario Chalmers you'd be going nuts

Funny you say that because I was going to say this lol. People can downplay it all you want but you're in serious denial if you don't think that dunk was SICK! I still haven't watched it twice yet. That's how embarrassed I was for terry lol.

exactly
i literally put my face in my hand and probably said 'jesus'
no way you can try to take the nastiness away from that dunk

if you laughed at mozgov, brandon knight, big al or anyone else jeff posterized...please don't act too high and mighty for this dunk lol

The "poster" dunk is an exemplification of everything wrong in the NBA.

Blake Griffin's dunk on Gasol?  He extended his forehand and it was an offensive foul on Gasol.  Gasol did the right thing and tried to contest it, didn't get the foul, and now everyone says Griffin "owned" Gasol.  No.  It was a freaking foul and Gasol tried to stop it.

I'm sick of seeing players jump out of the way for fear of poster get no flak but players who do try to win the game and play defense get all this negative rep about them.  I mean if Dwight Howard has an easy dunk and you'r a 6'0 guard, no you shouldn't try to block it because you'll just give an and-1.  But If you're Chris freaking Bosh and don't even try to contest when Rondo flies by you for a dunk you should get some freaking criticism.

The poster dunk is a very rare thing in the NBA.  What people like to call poster dunks often involve bigmen dunking over smaller guards and/or committing an offensive foul that doesn't get called.  Just like when DeAndre Jordan recently dunked over that Raptors guard.  WELL WHAT THE EFF DO YOU EXPECT TO HAPPEN WHEN A GUARD CONTESTS A DUNKING CENTER.  He should be given RESPECT for trying to stop him not getting ripped.  I mean yeah, if Dwight Howard got dunked on by Nate Robinson in a game that is one thing, but a guard contesting a center??  OHHH SO IMPRESSIVE.

It's a freaking joke and it is the reason why the NBA has gone done hill so much.  It's more about flash and getting away with offensive fouls than it is good disciplined, team orientated basketball like the Celtics/Spurs do.

I must have really differenct values than most basketball fans because i would have never thought 6'8" lebron dunking on 6'1" Jason Terry would have blown up like this.

It wasn't the dunk. It was the nonsense afterwards that Lebron did that made me upset. He stood over Terry like "Look at me, I'm your superior". Totally uncalled for.
