  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
If Bradley develops the PG skills of a Jose Calderon/Jeff Teague (not elite, but better than average), Does it make Rondo redundant and ensures that he will probably get traded?

I like Marcus Smart

I feel that's what the team is hoping for, but I don't see it. I feel AB will never be a superior passer and that he'll never come close to half of Rondo. I'd rather he become a cutter, off-the-ball or maybe a spot-up shooter. I like Lee and Pierce running the offense. Even Green.

  • Thumper of the BASS!
he should not be developed to the point where he feels he can do it all by himself

where his game is now is perfect for this team

Avery Bradley's development will have little effect on Rondo.

noone is getting traded. rondo is a top 10 nba player, an elite point guard with an x-factor being basketball iq, on a bargain contract... ab is still on his rookie contract but considerably outplays his salary... no point in trading when you wouldnt get equal value in terms of salary cap

That is a huge if on the passing it's not happening.  Guys are either assists guys or they are not assist guys.  Shooting he has definitely improved.

Not if but when. Bradley will improve with no doubt. Rondo's body is breaking down. More nagging injuries per season now. Celts should move him asap. We need a 5 more than Rondo now that Bradley is dittoing last season. Bradley's the guy everyone wants at his party.

I just don't see Bradley getting to the level of above average PG.  I'm still concerned he's got significant issues handling a press --> something I never worry about with Rondo.

I'll be happy if Bradley can become consistent with his jumper where he can average 12-15 its with a couple of games over 20 when his defender leaves him open

That's like saying 3 years ago if Perkins develops the low post game of a Kevin McHale, Hakeem Olajuwon, does that make KG tradebale. It doesn't matter, because it would never happen. Bradley will never even come close to a Calderon or Jeff Teague when it comes to ball handling.

Keep them both.  They've been an excellent backcourt together.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

AB is still very young and is polishing his skills.  His best years are still ahead of him.

Are people forgetting how good Bradley was offensively last year at SG? Remember when he almost carried the Celtics to victory of the Hawks with the Big 4 all out, scoring something like 28 points on a high %? I'd rather let him play his natural position (SG) than force him to be something he isn't.

Exactly. Doc and Danny gave up on forcing him to be a PG after his rookie year.

Beat me to it...

If Sullinger grows 2 inches and adds 4 inches to his vertical leap will he be a top 3 PF in the league?

You cant just teach a guy how to dribble once he has already been playing basketball for 20 years. Teague and Calderon are special PG's that have that gift. Bradley isnt a PG.

Hey, he has progressed. He can now bring the ball up and start the offence without tripping over his own feet :)

In any case, he's not a great PG, but he's not a great SG either -- not a great shooter, and not great creating off the dribble. Make of this what you will.
