Of course, there's Avery Bradley but another name that is often not in DPOY discussions? Marc Gasol (this was a good read: http://www.sbnation.com/2013/3/15/4108416/marc-gasol-grizzlies-defensive-player-of-the-year)
Jeff Green - Top 5 SF

[Kevin Garnett]

Marc Gasol is perhaps the best overall talented center in the game...he has it ALL.

He may not rebound like Dwight, or block shots like him, but his game is TOTAL...free throws, passes extremely well for a big, rebounds well, blocks shots well, lowpost, highpost, mid-range J...everything.

Judging by the well-written article, I can see why he should be in the mention at least for DPOY.

I have a feeling that Marc has been quietly doing this stuff down there in MEM for the last few yrs, but not many of us notice it, unfortunately.

I'm a huge Marc Gasol fan too,    wish he was a Celtic,

The Grizzlies are notorious cheapskates who want to avoid the luxury tax, so I see him as a guy who could become a Celtic in a year or two, either as a free agent when his contract comes up or as a trade of him as an expiring contract for younger, cheaper players.

A veteran who plays intelligent defense seems like a good fit for a post-KG/PP Celtics team.  I'm not bothered that he would be 30 years old in that scenario.
