If Our Power Forwards Can't Rebounds And Make Points
Specially Brandon Bass At Least 11 Rebounds A Game And 10 Points A Game, Also D.J. White, Chris Wilcox, And Sometimes Green
should we rely on kg or pierce, for rebounds?
this is a concern with moving through playoffs
hibbert west george mahinmi
blatche lopez humphries evans wallace
noah boozer gibson
sanders and the rest of the guys
knicks at least thomas and camby can get 10+ a rebounds a game
and most specially as watching last years game, bass only hit jumpers that makes him good because of rondo's assist and since he misses a shot, haslem lebron bosh are there for rebounds which turn to a fastbreak offense, and now the addition of birdman which can give you 6 rebounds or 8 rebounds or 4 which is better than wilcox or white and maybe bass,

i don't look at offense as a problem, pierce can get 30+ a points come playoffs, green can get 20+ terry can get 19, lee maybe 6 or 7 points, bradley maybe 10 below points, crawford 15 points below, williams 3 or 4 or 6 below...
every heat players are 3 pointers but 50/50 they can make it all the time, i know lebron can get 18 rebounds come playoffs, so the plan if jeff green on him, but i do believed in the saying that rebounds is the key to defense, if green force lebron and bradley force wade to hit long jumpers and missed brandon bass should get all those rebounds, there is no point of hitting jump shots, heat players can spread the floor, so i want someone to clogged the middle (garnett) defender for lebron (green) rebounder (bass)
no rebounds no ring
if larry sanders dominates the rebounds and jennings ellis reddick dominates, they have a chance if they face them 1st round, mbahamoute is a good perimeter defender

I knew it was a krook thread when I saw the title.

(Not saying it's a bad thing, because a lot of them end up with at least somewhat heated discussions. Just saying I called it)

As for the actual thread: we miss Sully.

And the only capital letters in title  ::)

But I think we do not need rebounds as much as last year. We're dominating the defensive boards at times now, and we're not last in the league. Good enough for me. We rebound enough to win.

Seems like Bass has been rebounding more the last few games.  Could it be that bringing in even the two bigs from China was enough to get him feeling the motivation of competition for playing time?

Rebounds ARE Defense..that is why I wanted fab melo to get some real time back in OCT-Jan.....maybe he can be a shot blocker, rebounder..that would help....!!!

agree...
and again, if d-wade and lebron was forced to hit long jump shots and missed, BRANDON BASS better be ready to rebounds if we really want to beat the heat, REBOUNDS AND BOX OUT

One would think Sully would have been a much bigger threat (he lost his starting job for awhile) and that should have motivated him more than some fringe NBA talent. But he looks more aggressive on both ends of the floor so I'm happy with his as of late. Whatever the reason, keep it up BB.

He is not polished enough to be a quality defender just yet. And useless on offense would be generous. I have no clue if he will ever be an impact player, but I know he is nowhere close to helping anytime soon.

i don't think one of them would really help us, but if i had to choose, i'd rather lose randolph, and take a 7footer maybe if randolph gets 4 rebounds, the other guy gets 5 haha

I don't think the odds of Green scoring 20+ a game are great, but the odds of PP giving us 30+ a game in the playoffs are very low.

Welcome to being a celtics fan... Where rebounding doesn't matter.

There doesn't seem to be much correlation between being a good offensive rebounding team and winning.  You'd probably be surprised to learn that we are not currently the worst offensive rebounding team in the league.  According to HoopData, that distinction belongs to the San Antonio Spurs.  Fourth worst are the Miami Heat.

We are about middle of the pack as far as defensive rebounding goes.  I don't have the splits or anything, but I distinctly remember us being much higher than that earlier in the season.  I'm guessing that the loss of both Rondo and Sully has had a negative impact on our defensive rebounding numbers.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

most say that about a rebounder-shot blocker, who has done so in numerous games in the D league, rebounds and shot blocking is the same in both leagues. Then, look at crawford and williams, white also, raqndolph....you say THEY are so polished....you see ANY defense there, i see lost, wild souls, pickup bball players, like the types I play against....THAT is my point, fab is/was worth the same time out there, alongside KG to develop, you cannot teach HEIGHT, he will always be near the rim, always block a shot or two, always be in the paint for a needed REBOUND, then you set him up a few times, scores, gets confident...BANG..you gotsszzz a PLAYER...look at hibbard, he was a rusty nail...till they played him, he was a 7 foot stiff...now he is getting pretty dangerous, and he is STILL SEVEN FEET...wild guards who like to luanch a shot with no one under the rim are a dime a dozen. DOC....darko....
