Pats sign Adrian Wilson.

Now, that's a quality signing.

So this was merely hoping and not a report?

Adrian Wilson is a very solid addition. Gives our defense that physical edge that you don't get with McCourty or Gregory. And Tavon Wilson can learn the ropes behind him since they are similar players (hopefully).

i wonder what this means for McCourty and also Talib. I haven't seen the details yet, so I don't know how much cap space it will take up, but I think McCourty needs to stay at safety where he seems to have really thrived. But at the same time are there enough snaps out there for all 3 (plus Tavon Wilson will probably see a few reps).

I'd be a little nervous about our lack of a true cover corner being picked up yet, but there are still quite a few good options out there. Maybe Bill is just slow playing it to see if anyone is willing to sign on at a discount.

The big FA question: who are most likely suitors for Elvis Dumeril?
I'm not sure how much room the Pats have left, but I'm salivating at the thought of him opposite chandler Jones.

Well Denver can actually bring him back (not sure they can afford it)

Would love it if the Pats could grab him but I think the lowest he went with Denver was 8.5mill

Pats just signed Sanders to an offer sheet:

http://espn.go.com/blog/boston/new-england-patriots/post/_/id/4741103/report-pats-sign-sanders-to-offer-sheet

I think he can definitely be worth the third rounder as long as the deal isn't too big and if the Steelers match at least we messed with them a little bit.

Assuming its something similar to Amendola, I think Vollmer is gone for good now. We still need to pick of a cover corner (unless signing Adrian Wilson means McCourty is going back to corner).

But Denver is no longer able to offer him that much. Doubtful anyone else will offer that much either.

Apparently it's premature. Pats still mulling.

In the crazy world of NFL cap manipulation, I think they could probably give him the same amount of guaranteed money and base salaries; they'd just have to structure it differently.

The question is, does Dumervil have any interest in this, or were the "fax problems" an attempt by Dumervil / his agent to 1) get to free agency while still saving face, or 2) sneakily try to "run out the clock" and get his full base salary.

Good questions/ points. Strange saga that is still unfolding.

Well, there goes another top flight WR.  Greg Jennings has signed a 5 year $47.5m deal with the Vikings it appears.

Jennings signing is good for the Vikes but still not sold on them. Think they overachieved last year.

I like what Seattle has done with adding Harvin and Avril.

Wilson is a nice signing for NE.

Intrigued by Miami's moves. Thinking Tannehill might be a nice sleeper QB pick for Fantasy Football.

Yeah, I'm not too high on the Vikes myself.  Hard to think AP will replicate the season he had last year.  Jennings is a better WR than Harvin, but I'm not sure if he's better for the Vikes.  Ponder is better throwing short passes than deep balls, but Jennings should help their play-action passing game.

Ultimately, until the Vikings get a real QB, I just can't see them being a threat to compete with the big boys.  Nice team though.

Talib resigns with Pats on a one year "prove yourself" contract.  Big resigning.

Per PFT.
