In 2008, the Houstons Rockets went on the 2nd longest winning streak in NBA history (22 games)

On March 18, 2008, the Boston Celtics ended the Rockets streak at 22 games with a 94-74 victory

The 22 game winning streak ended on March 18 and the game was played at Boston.

the Miami Heat's streak at 19 games after tonights win over the Hawks.
The Heat's next three games are at Philly, Milwaukee, and Toronto. Assuming the Heat win all three that puts the streak at 22 games.

NOW THIS IS WHERE IT GETS CREEPY...if the Heat were to extend the streak to 22 games, they would then face the Boston Celtics, AT BOSTON and ON MARCH 18.

The Rockets winning streak was something special. I liked that team.

Hopefully instead of "second longest" winning streak...we'll make them have "tied second longest" winning streak.

That Rockets game was @ Houston, not @ Boston.
It's impressive nevertheless. Went into their building, blew them out and snapped their 22 game win streak.

That was the game I knew we could win banner 17. Remember McGrady saying it was the best defensive performance he'd ever seen.

Doubtful....the heat will want a little payback from that double overtime loss and actually try

I'm pretty sure that Rockets win was IN Houston. It was part of that sick Texas Triangle win...

Are you trying to imply they didn't try last time?

  • You say when......
We would have a MUCH better chance if we had an attack plan that consisted of RONDO & BRADLEY......We currenty do not have the ball handling ability to beat either OKLA or Miami ...no one that can bring it up and move it that fast...or attack the rim off the dribble...Rondo, with bradley and green, as he is now, would make us beating them possible....right now.....? Who is going to shut down or slow lebron..? Battier, Bosh, CHALMERS...and wade...how do you propose to cover ALL of these guys..? Ray allen is shooting BETTER than Terry, then add the rebounding of Anderson, Haslem.....so many guys to plan for.....sorry, I don't see it....

Dude. Rondo is out and we can't play him. There's no need to start another flamefest.

When i answer a post, i do so with reasons....mine are the reasons that i believe...i don't care for bball fantasies....like the guys here who constantly have these trade fantasies as in "lets trade RONDO for jordon, but when Jordon was 26 years old.." so, i think mine reply was an answer to what i see....don't agree...well fine...i don't understand where you are coming from....you can bet i see the state of the team.

"Writing only worthwhile comments from herein out" THAT..is your post...words to live by..?

I'll be watching regardless, but I hope Miami is still winning at that point.

The difference between the 2 winning streaks is that Houston's steak was pretty flukey. Houston was a very good team, but not a true contender like Miami.

The Heat are the defending champs. They have the MVP and a former finals MVP as their top two players. Houston's best player was McGrady. Also, I believe Ming was hurt during a sizable chunk of the streak.

One final point. The Houston/Boston game which ended the streak was just another game (minus the streak of course). Miami and Boston have a lot of history between the two. I fully expect Miami to be in playoff mode for the game. The last thing Miami wants, is to give Boston any encouragement right before the playoff. This is not to mention the "We ended the streak" bragging right & KG smack-talk ammunition.
