DeMarcus Cousins was ejected from Sunday's game after elbowing Mike Dunleavy in the back of the head.
The two players got tangled up a minute earlier, leading to some heated words, and anyone with functioning senses could tell that Cousins was going to erupt. Sure enough, Cousins took an obvious cheap-shot that will probably get him suspended, especially since the league takes a player's behavioral history into account. The Kings only play two games next week, beginning Wednesday vs. the Bulls, and owners are probably better off benching Cousins, who exited on Sunday with 24 points and 10 rebounds.

if the Kings turn into the SOnics next year, there are still a lot of folks out here in Seattle who are pretty disgusted with the NBA for how they handled the OKC situation... and I know plenty of people in denial out here who have made themselves feel better by saying the NBA is filled with divas and grossly overpaid thugs and they are "happy" the league is gone.  That ownership group will need to be careful about repairing the relationship between casual Seattle folks and the NBA... and I really find it hard to believe they'll allow DeMarcus Cousins to be the face of the franchise.  He might be a misunderstood and extremely talented kid who just needs guidance, but I feel like it would be completely insane for the Sonics not to trade Cousins in the offseason.  Too much risk there.

Agree completely with this.  If you're going to try to win over a new fanbase after moving a team to a new city, then I just don't think you can afford to have Cousins as the face of your franchise.  He's just too much of a loose cannon at this point.

Our face of the franchise is Rajon Rondo and he fits the same bill. It works.

Completely disagree.

The face of this franchise is Paul Pierce.

We are the Celtics. We survived Pitino and Wallace. I liked the Sonics and all, but there's no comparison. They're trying to get a team back in town.

By the way, if the Kings/Sonics want to get rid of Cousins (doubt it), we can send them Bass and our first for him on draft night  :P

Was this really that bad and obvious?  Maybe I couldn't see it from that replay video, looked like a bit of an act job.

Agree...When pierce and garnett go this team will have an identity crisis.

They've done just fine without rajon.

Yeah, I've seen Dwight Howard throw more vicious elbows that were never called. I guess Cousins is developing a bit of a reputation already.

For sure on the Dwight call.  He didn't even have his elbows extended (the classic Dwight move, masquerading as a clear out after a rebound).

I do feel a lot of this is reputation.  I don't see it, especially to condemn him or suspend him.

I with you. If Cousins gets suspended for that I think Dunleavy should get suspended for what caused it. His play looks dirtier than Cousins play.

We can even throw Garnetts name out there along with Howard. Garnett threw an elbow on Sunday that was worse than Cousins.
