He sets records with assists the moment he set foot in the NBA, but he is a ball hog. He can't shoot but he's capable of dropping 44 points against the best player and the best team in the league. The hardest basketball player to figure out that I can think of. A walking conundrum. Rajon Rondo.

I loved the guy for what he's done here. And I wanna switch gears and ask hypothetically if we could have traded Rondo for Steph Curry the 2009-2010 seaso do you think we could have been even more successful than we were? Could we have one another with an incredible  shooting team with,

Curry, Allen, Pierce, Garnett, that looks good on paper all right what do you think.

He set records once he set foot in the NBA? Huh?

Move on to the point. Better team with Rondo or Curry over the last few years.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
With our team, with the way Pierce, KG, Ray Allen, could all move the ball, Curry, if he's healthy, should be the better fit.

Heck he's flat out been the better player this season even when Rondo was healthy.

But what records did Rondo set when he stepped foot in the NBA?

He really didn't set any records.

I pick Rondo, Curry has been too injured and in Boston, that just makes everyone else injured. We're always too injured...

Very valid. Curry's injury history is a likely deal breaker.

Not that Rondo has the lead there now anyways.

Curry's a good shooter but that's about it. We wouldn't have beaten the Cavs in 2010 with him and probably wouldn't have gone as far last year. We'd probably have done about as well in 10-11.

In 09-10 Rajon Rondo was a MONSTER...our loss in the finals vs the Lakers was NOT just Rondo's fault.

10-11? Who knows how far we would've gone if it wasn't for Wade taking Rondo down.

11-12? Take away LeBron's superhuman game 6, and Rajon Rondo, once again, is at the forefront of another post-season of greatness.

12-13? I'm glad the team's been able to step up in his place, but I just don't trust unproven players - even as good as Curry.

To put up 54 pts in a regular season game is one thing.

To put up 44 pts and push MIA to the brink IN MIA - is another - plus raise his entire game to another level.

Give Me Rondo. There is NO way to know how Curry will/would react in the playoffs.

I would've figured Maravich but Coleman's a good one.

If Curry had stayed healthy, yes.  I was all for it.  I was especially all for it, because at the time Curry was still on his rookie deal and freeing up some additional cap space theoretically opened up even more flexibility to surround him.  It wouldn't have been simply "replace Rondo with Curry"... there would have been more to it.

But the rumors say Golden State turned us down, so you might as well be asking if trading Rondo for Chris Paul would have been good.  Yes... it would have.

Think that's selling Curry shot. Elite scorer, elite shooter, average passer, average defender.

I think you put more of a premium on "average" than I do. When I was watching the Celts play the Warriors I felt he didn't contribute a lot to the team when he wasn't scoring, I've felt that way in the past as well.

  Lol.

Glen Robinson fit in that category as well IMO, but not as well as Coleman.
