  • Everyone's excited for the new era.
It goes both ways, guys.

What if we found out Pierce, KG, and Rondo used HGH?  That makes them just as bad as LeBron, Dwight, and Wade, right?

We'll see.  I'm just glad the NBA is finally doing this.

If pierce is using performance enhancers or growth hormone he's doing it wrong. He constantly has niggling injuries and has one of the sloppiest rigs on the team.

KG?  Rondo?

KG doubt it, he's still skinny. Rondo, I don't know he still looks like what he did in his rookie season, I think he gained 5 pounds at most.

And PP, haha if he is, He is definitely doing it wrong. Plus I think he's getting chunkier.

You could make the argument that all these older guys (KG, Pierce, Duncan, Kobe, Ray, etc.) are still able to play at a high level (even elite, for some of them) BECAUSE they use HGH.

It's interesting to think about.

Personally, I don't think anyone on our team uses HGH, but it's still a possibility.

It is interesting for sure.
All those old cats could be using HGH, but I highly doubt it, I think they are just legends at what they do.
Plus all those old players you've mentioned, their bodies haven't changed much since their rookie years. Tim Duncan actually lost some muscle definition lol

My assumption is players will get off this and will be onto the next generation of stuff we don't even know about

They probably already are.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Human Growth Hormone is a naturally occurring peptide, secreted by the pituitary gland, usually during sleep or after some anabolic training.

If one uses injectable HGH, it rapidly metabolizes into IGF and other subhormones which then assist the body in rapid recovery. It's not an analog/derivative of testosterone which is easy to test for. The HGH spike disappears in the system, within an hour or so. And even its subsequent metabolites don't have lengthy residence periods.

Thus, if one isn't routinely injecting on a regular basis and let's say, juices weekly, chances are, it won't be detected. In addition to injections, an athlete can also shallow 2-3 grams of certain Amino Acids like Arginine/Ornithine/Lysine on an empty stomach daily, and also get a base line IGF increase without it being a case of doping. Taking Amino Acids doesn't violate any rules.

My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.

What I'm thinking is back in the 90s when PEDs were so rampant in baseball but not yet tested, there must have been some NBA players who had the same trainers, doctors, advisors, or even agents of MLB players like Clemmens, Bonds, & McGuire. Think about who excelled in the NBA in that ERA that may get you thinking.

Shaq
Alonzo
Malone
Ben Wallace
Rodman

To be fair, Karl Malone came in big and didn't change much. Not sure about Wallace and if he got bigger but his career exploded in the 2001 season. Shaq was already 300+ in 1998. Alonzo had a great physique as well but he seems like he was all about hard work and no short cuts. Dennis Rodman though is a guy that would seem to try anything. I remember him being thin in Detroit but he got significantly bigger as his career went along and the guy had incredible stamina. Its not fair to these players but one can't help think about it.

Duncan, KG would never imo. Those guys just couldn't. If they did, no more sports for me, ever. :)

I think HGH will allow you to increase your muscle mass which could in turn make you more explosive. Think about a guy like Howard who was 220lbs in HS and was projected as a PF. No way he would be able to hold his own against players like Shaq in the post. He's now 260-270lbs. Not accusing him but he would be a prime example. LeBron came in 240-250lbs and he's now 260-270 and a freak athlete in part due to his explosiveness.

Rodman spent all his money on crack anyway

It's all about recovery time. If you inject HGH weekly, but then take amino acids daily, you'll have amazing recovery from all your weightlifting programs like bench presses and squatting. Normally, for the average Joe, if one really hits it hard like high weights (think 400 to 600 lbs) for 8 reps x 3-4 sets for squats, your legs are kinda shot the following day. Well ... now imagine if within 24 hours, your legs are all right. That's the basic difference, we're talking about. All and all, for b-ball, where having your legs under you is critical to winning Q4s, HGH can definitely help.

I've expected for a while that nba players are using some kind of ped's.  But it isn't because of guys lke Lebron and Howard.  It's because of older guys that have continued to play better at an age that guys in previous years had already faded. I will let you guess who those guys are.

I want to see guys be able to have long careers and be able to recover from injuries.  If it's not a health risk,  I'm all for it.
