Lets give it up to Wilcox, for once

For those of you who have the Indy game still recorded, go back and look at how Wilcox worked his but off against Hibbert.  I also want to tip my hat of to Danny Ainge for scaring the crap out of this guy buy trying to trade him.  That was a wake up call for him , and he has been playing good ever since.

I feel VERY good going into the playoffs with Wilcox onboard.

KG-Bass-Wilcox is all you really need in a playoff series...sprinkle that with some DJ WHite, Shavlik, even Green at the 4 in a few cases, and we are set.

Even when he turns it over, I like him. (missed dunks, foot on line)

Helping charities just makes him much, much better in my eyes. He helps a lot of underprivileged/sick people.

I'll never understand why everyone is so down on him. I mean last year he averaged what 6 points and 5 boards? That and coupled with the fact he just had heart surgery a year ago, of course his numbers weren't going to be great. It took Jeff a while to come back, and he's getting consistent minutes, Wilcox isn't.

I really don't get why Doc was so insistent on not playing him.

- He's a very efficient scorer: he knows which shots to take and which he's sure to miss.
- He's a solid rebounder, at worst he's as good as Bass.
- He plays with a ton of energy, and often gets us easy fast break points.
- He's a blocking presence.

His post defense and help defense aren't spectacular, but all things considered, I am more than comfortable with him as our third big. I hope he keeps getting 15-20 minutes.

good post...I was thinking about this today. He is playing great. I like Collins but, I feel Wilcox contributes more. Plus, no one ever talks about his heart surgery. He is a good kid.

I like your optimism. Wilcox is playing well. This team keeps getting better.

Typical rhythm player. He needs minutes to be comfortable he's starting to get them. When you come back from a major surgery you have to regain confidence first and he wasn't able to do that, coupled with the timeframe for his surgery and he was behind Jeff Green and you can see him coming around too.  I wonder if Rondo was ever thinking "wth" when Doc would throw in Acie Earl 2.0 instead of Wilcox and then ask the team to run.

Part of the problem in the playoffs last year was the Celtics didn’t close out the Atlanta series in 5 games. Then due to the lockout/crunched playoff scheduled they got only 1 or 0 days off (can’t remember which) before the Philadelphia series began. More days off between the 1st and 2nd round will be significant for the legs of the 35 and up guys.

Good point...I do remember them now rolling right into the MIA series on very little rest...all but conceding that game 1.

We were SO CLOSE that series...you are so right.

Closing out ATL earlier or even PHI could've made a huge difference.

We ALMOST took game 2 from them..Rondo's historic 44 pt game...
