Should We Start D.J. WHITE Over Brandon Bass?

Nope. I'd prefer to keep winning games.

We are not the Bobcats. This is not the year to tank. Maybe when KG and pierce retire/get traded we can start playing hacks like DJ white significant minutes in order to get higher in the lottery.

Brandon ain't great, but he isn't that bad.

One night doesn't say everything

No, but when watching the games, I usually track it. And Bass almost always leads this team in the minus category.

LoL ... I knew somebody would find that stat.....

Bass is playing Bazz Backwards ........he is getting worse instead of better......

I noticed last night, when White was at the scorers table, he started playing even worse.

No, he is that bad. That being said, I’m far from convinced, after four minutes of play, that DJ White should supplant Bass in the starting five. I would love for Doc to extend White’s minutes on Friday, however.

I'd hate to burst your bubble, but DJ white is worse than Brandon Bass.

Let that sink in for a while, be sick all over yourself, then discuss another power forward option for the celtics.

I would say smallball with green at the 4 is your least disgusting proposition.

Worse? Premature position. Better? Also a premature position.

By all accounts he improved during his time in China. Let's give the guy some minutes in place of a minus player, and see if he steps up.

He's shot a career better FG% than Bass, though Bass has been better with FT's. They've been equal in rebounding  :( and Bass has been slightly better in blocks, White in steals.  Danny regularly talks about the NBA being a league of opportunity, and that sometimes equal players just don't get the time to show what they can do.

The guy I'm more curious about is Randolph, as he's been a better rebounder than either Bass or White and seems to be the guy who may have improved much since his last time in the NBA.  I hope we see him in the next game.

Bass is just so uncoordinated .... he has ten thumbs ...Bass leading a fast break was more than I could bare.....I needed an extra nerve pill.

long as Bass is in the game the other team always has a chance to win.

All we really need from White is a few good minutes here and there unless someone gets in foul trouble

That’s a curious response.  Bit of a straw man argument, don’t you think?   You see, I never opined that White was the superior player.  He hasn't proven himself as a Celtic yet. Maybe he’ll perform better than Bass, or maybe, somehow, he’ll perform worse.  I think Clover has it right, give the guy some minutes, and see what he does.

This isn't a one game aberration; it’s a season long trend. Brandon Bass has regressed, or perhaps more accurately, he’s reverted back to pre-trade Brandon Bass.

If we had a real 4 (Sully) we'd be really dangerous. Bass is garbage. Point. Period. End of discussion. He is THE weakest link on this squad. DJ is not the answer. Playing Jeff at the 4 spot the majority of the time is our only hope right now. Unfortunately,Doc is going to give Bass major minutes. I just hope he realizes that we are best served with his Bass on the Bench! ;D

Looking at this thread explains a lot about this countries problems. People making extreme statements that are unsubstantiated and resorting putting down others that don't agree with them.

#1 If DJ White sucked he wouldn't be in the NBA.
#2 If Brandon Bass sucked he would not be on the Celtics.

Question is who best suits the Celtics current needs. Which is someone to spell KG and take Sullinger's minutes. Bass is fine with the starters. DJ White may be a nice spark off the bench. Don't see what all the hubub is about. I was thinking the same thing when I saw his stats and I think it is reasonably for anyone who missed his 3 min. of fame to be a little curious/encouraged about the guys potential.
