I think we're only a short distance away from a major NBA PED scandal, and yeah, LeBron would be huge if this was anywhere near true.

No worries, I'm sure he'll take a leave from the NBA to try baseball before anything comes out....

So some major rumors are beginning to float around the internet that LeBron is involved in the Miami clinic steroid scandal.  As of right now, all they are rumors, coming from sites like total pro sports, yard barker etc.  Regardless of it being just rumors, would it surprise you if the best player in basketball is on steroids?

Since we are dealing in the shadows here, I will add this. This is completely a rumor, but I read on one site that LBJ is in fact linked to this Miami designed anti-aging clinic.

However, his connection to the clinic is not as a patient, aka user of anti-aging meds/steroids. LBJ is actually the biological baseline from which all of Biogenesis' products are made.

Biochemist, Anthony Bosch somehow convinced LBJ to be a research subject and in fact produce LBJ based steroids from.

It's no wonder so many athletes get their PEDs there.

Unreal.

This would make the 8 seed look a LOT more attractive. Can you imagine a Lebronless Heat, then the Knicks then the superstarless Pacers?

We can't forget the muscular types like Don Maclean that got busted for roids.  You can't pick out a guy based on the way they look. Keep in mind too that a lot of basketball players are rail thin so when you see them on TV they look bigger. Add to that the fact that us black guys show definition better. Look at Rondo, he sometimes looks pretty swoll in the arms but he's a toothpick.

All that being said, Lebron weighs like 270 and he's fast strong and jumps out of the building and I don't remember competing with anybody on that level in college.

Haha.  The source of this rumor is some poser named "Incarcerated Bob".

http://ibnsportswrap.com/

https://twitter.com/incarceratedbob

Sounds credible to me.

Coming from the fountain of cred that is some poser named Roy H, this analysis seems fair.  ::)

Just kidding, of course!

For what its worth, Incarcerated Bob was the guy who broke "Honey Nut Cheerios." He's not close to being the most reliable source, but there was a great Classical article on him a little while ago:

I don't really believe any of it, but it makes for a great story/rumor... or perhaps even a Lifetime movie starring Rick Fox.

Can't say I'd be totally stunned. I always wondered how someone at such a young age can become so big, strong and athletic to the point where he can outplay an entire basketball team, by himself.

Speaking of which, while were talking about players we don't like linked to roids (lol), there's another story floating around the internet about Cano, ARod and Granderson from the Yankees as well

http://daps.tv/source-robinson-cano-alex-rodriguez-ryan-braun-and-curtis-granderson-to-be-suspended/

Well let’s see, Lance Armstrong was first accused (at least in the main stream) of using PED’s in 2004.  USADA didn’t investigate until 2011, didn’t come to the conclusion he used PED’s until 2012.

Marion Jones used prior to the 2000 Olympics, rumors really started a few years later.  She didn’t plead guilty until 2007.

Baseball players started using steroids in the late 80’s.  The whispers were getting louder and louder in the 90’s, Mark McGwire was using andro in ’98, BALCO case started in 2003, Canseco released a book in 2005, House had some big league stars testify in 2005, and yet the Mitchell report didn’t start until 2006 and wasn’t released until 2007.

At this rate, LeBron won’t be indicted until sometime after 2020 at the earliest.  There's usually a 7-8 year waiting period after the rumors start  ;)

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

He could be on steroids, but this is him at 17... he was going to be HUGE regardless.

I'm just bummed LeBron didn't bring the "calf sweatband" to the NBA ... especially since he played for the Cavs (get it? like "calves"?).

You don't have to be a great physical specimen to take Steroids. Look at Kenny Powers!
