Quote
LeBron James said he will have his knee examined by a team doctor once the Miami Heat arrive in Minneapolis on Sunday night, according to reports.

James landed awkwardly when he was fouled trying to catch a lob pass in the third quarter of Miami's 99-93 win over the New York Knicks and was trying afterward to loosen his left knee or leg. He looked fine in the closing minutes, making key plays on both ends of the floor.

He told the Miami Herald he would have his knee examined as a precautionary measure.

"I was concerned," James told the Miami Herald. "I'm still concerned a little bit."

"I was able to finish the game strong but things are always a little worse the next day," James said. "We've got to fly to Minnesota, but I believe I'll be in the lineup [Monday], though."

James told the Miami Herald he expects the knee to swell during the flight

Could you imagine if Lebron played the rest of the game with a torn acl like Rondo did?

the east would be wide open.....

probably just a sprain though

yea its probably nothing major but its pretty remarkable that this guy has avoided any real significant injury despite playing as hard as he does and as many minutes as he does.

Just more proof that he is a robot.  ;)

Karl Malone was the same way in Utah for all those years.

I doubt it's anything but the East is wide open if James were to go down.

Wide open to be crushed by whatever team comes out of the West I guess. I'd like to see Chicago get Rose back and make a run. I really like Rose and I have a soft spot for Thibbs. Of course my first preference is #18 =)

It is remarkable that he hasn't had any sort of significant injury. He is all over the court and flying high every night. That pounding is bound to cause some issues at some point.

As much as I've rooted against LeBron, he is pretty [dang] impressive and worthy of respect.

Just look at Pierce and KG. Lebron is still pretty young.

And if Lebron played on torn acl we literally would never hear the end of it.

Other than we have "Rondo out with an ACL", "Barbosa out with an ACL", "Sullinger out with back surgery"... so yeah, people can talk all they want.

Hate to admit it but I am in the same boat. His play this year has been pretty ridiculous. But imagine if he was out for the year with an ACL tear or something. That would certainly shake things up.

How can he be so durable playing at the level he does and taking the hits he does? Has he ever had a significant injury? The most games he has missed in one season is 7.

I mean, have you looked at the dude? He's a genetic outlier--even if you're into the HGH/steroid/performance enhancer idea, it'd be silly to believe that A) LBJ is the only one using that stuff or B) that if the playing field were equal, substance-wise, he would be anything different in relation to the rest of the league.

for the record, I think the spectre of PED's is vastly overrated in professional sports.

I hate him because:

1. He took the easy way out to get a championship :(

2. The way he left Cleveland

3. His facial expressions

4. The way the refs never see him foul

5. His cowardliness when dealing with the slam dunk contest...

Honestly he might be my favorite non-Celtic player in the entire league. He's super enjoyable to watch and I wouldn't minde seeing him win a bunch of rings. I also couldn't care less about the Dunk Contest.

I respect the fact that he took The Cavs with no one to the Finals, then i appreciate that he lost to The Mavs in 2011 and was forced to refocus himself and go back to the drawing board. He's dominating the league right now and he's doing if the right way, posting up, sharing the ball, playing excellent defensively.

Plus every Heat championship over the next 5 years is another year that LA didn't surpass us in rings.

Yeah um, lebron is my favorite player to watch in the league but as far as not minding seeing him win multiple championships? Yeah um, no. I want the heat to fail and fail hard every year. Even if its unlikely we knock them off I'm hoping someone else does. Pacers, OKC, SPURS.

You really can't fault him for going to Miami though. If there's an opportunity to win championships you take it. The way he handled his departure is another story though. ::)
