yeah that is exactly what the world needs.

Another 1 million to an overpaid sports player for an exhibition.

Magic does a lot of things well, but this is not one of them.

Throwing a million dollars at a guy who makes close to eight to nine figures a year at a time when the world economy and the finances of the fans are not doing great is a really bad move.

Put this in the category of Romney offering to bet Perry $10,000 at one of the Republican Presidential debates.

  • Everyone's excited for the new era.
The fact that stars need to be lured with money to participate in All Star Saturday Night is sad.

magic is dumb. And why would you donate 1 million dollar on a guy scared that he won't win the dunk contest that would ruin his rep??

USe that money to donate to the unfortunate would be a better idea

I honestly doubt the validity of this. Too ridiculous, but Magic probably would.

If a legit offer, it will probably be hammered out as $1m to the charity of Lebron's choice.  Of course, Donald Trump never accepted Stephen Colbert's offer.  Of course, Magic has an estimated net worth of $500m.

Magic didn't offer 1 million to LeBron, he offered 1 million to the winner of the contest.

He should donate $1 mil to a charity of LeBron's choice, but only if LeBron does the Dunk Contest.

If he doesn't, everybody will hate him for being mean :)

As I said, to the winner of the contest... that LeBron needs to participate is the condition. He's not paying LeBron to participate.

Larry Bird won the very first (pretty sure it was the first) three point contest and received a smallish sum of money for his efforts. When the next ASG rolled around reporters asked him if he was going to defend his title and he said not unless they raised the prize money. The league promptly added $5k or so to the prize for winning the contest.

You're p---ed because Magic is paying LeBron 1 million dollars because he's an overpay athlete, when the actual offer is to put 1 million dollar to the winner of the contest, who could very well be a rookie on a rookie salary, for the league minimum.

So, not the same thing. It may very well end up being LeBron who wins it, but he still has to go out there and beat the rest.

In any case, I don't know why anyone gives a rat's ass about what a player does with the his money, which he earned.

He'll probably insist on having the same judges that chose MJ over Nique. It's in the bag.

correction... money made, is different from money earned. I will give you the last word.
