Also add in the fact that he's been a Coach of the Year down in ORL..
Can anyone here imagine the ramifications of a Doc Rivers coaching opportunity for the U.S. in 2016?
For The Boston Celtics?
I hope he gets it. It would be well-deserved of a Great coach.
coach of the year also won by mike brown, mike dantoni, Avery Johnson, Sam Mitchell Byron Scott recently.
who cares.
What if he gets that job and they lose win?
Fixed it for you.
Look at what you typed...so, you'd be happy if Doc Rivers was chosen for the Olympic team, and lost, I bet.
Lol...first, it was Jeff Green here on the blog...then he got better and more consistent.
Rondo's hurt, so his availability for constant criticism is lessened.
CelticsBlog HAS to have a whipping boy, I guess.
Not at all...I love Rondo and green...they're not my whipping boys and neither is doc...he's a great man...just think he's become a little overrated as a coach and proposed the question what if he got that job and lost? Wouldn't be a good look and if they won then they were suppose to
Granted, I understand some of the criticisms in the threads about Doc Rivers...but no coach is perfect.
Look at this clip, for instance:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VNUqaAhq6U&playnext=1&list=PL9D9387D0AA9F473A&feature=results_videoIMO, there is NO OTHER coach out there that could've willed their team to win like that.
That game was Doc Rivers all the way. Look at the Celtics players body language in that game...if it wasn't for Doc, we would've lost that game and maybe went 7 games with that series.....
....but in THIS game, he NEVER gave up on BOS.
"Never stop believing, Baby"...."We gotta compete if we want to win"....."One bucket at a time"....."Never give up"....
Now, contrast that with some of Doug Collins comments in the series vs BOS just last year....can't recall exactly what was said, but Doug certainly didn't seem very confident in his group to beat us.
X and Os aside, I still believe Glenn Doc Rivers is a Great Coach....he's not perfect, but we must understand....even with some of the seemingly confusing moves he makes, he is making them for a reason.
And even then - he will admit to making mistakes - I've heard him do that, too.
I'm glad Doc Rivers is the coach of The Boston Celtics, and I hope he's here for another 10 years, myself.
