"Sometimes, the best plan of action is no plan of action"
We know. They are going to win it all, right?
If your view of NBA team management is as myopic as "win it all" then you are going to be disappointed.
The goal for all these franchises, even the Celtics and the Lakers, is to put a team out there that is competitive, fun to watch, fun to root for, and fills the seats. Yes there is a premium for winning championships in Boston and LA.
But let's not kid ourselves: the Celtics have one championship over the last 25 years. Might as well be the Kansas City Royals. And during the 90's there wasn't much difference between the two honestly.
Enter Wyc, Danny, and Doc. They have put together a franchise that has been incredibly enjoyable to watch. Since we got KG, they have also been incredibly good. Any fan who is not full of himself would easily admit that the past 6 years of Celtics basketball is about as good as it gets in the NBA, from a fan standpoint. Hell, ask a Knicks fan about that.
So yeah...keeping the 2 guys basically responsible for the last 6 years of awesome, enjoyable basketball, 2 hall of famers, 2 all-time Celtics greats....keeping them around for another year or to is pretty good idea to me.
If you'd rather watch Beldsoe and Jordan, go with Simmons and become a Clippers fan.
