  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.

Except, Detroit has no interest in him. At least not anymore.

The Pistons certainly were intrigued with Cousins before the 2010 Draft, and tried to move up from the ninth spot to get him. But once Sacramento took him at five, Detroit went for the next highly-rated big on the board in Monroe, and has been quite happy it did so.

Now, the Pistons plan to build around Monroe and rookie center Andre Drummond. There is no chance Detroit would move Monroe and leave itself with Cousins and Drummond -- who, like Cousins, is immensely talented, but has his own growing up to do after a lackluster one-and-done season at Connecticut before entering last year's Draft.

Yeah, it never made sense to trade for a big. They are pretty set for the next 10 years lol

Like others have said, the Detroit rumors didn't make a ton of sense to me.

Dont think Cousins and the city of Detroit would mix very well..plus they have Drummond & Monroe
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

i think charlotte is our only competition...can someone show me how dallas and orlando are in the equation..what can dallas and orlando offer...can dallas and orlando offer something better than us...also...i think any draft picks that are thrown in won't really tempt sacto unless it's a guaranteed lotto pick...picks will just be assets thrown in to sweeten the deal...

Dallas doesn't seem to have the young assets to tempt Sacto. The do have Kamen's expiring $8m deal, so if Kings ownership wanted to get out from under Salmons' contract, for example, they could deal Cousins and Salmons and filler for Kamen, Collison, and Brandan Wright, if they fancied those two young players.  That's not a great haul for Cousins.

Orlando has a number of young assets - Vucevic, Harkness, Nicholson, that would be coveted by a rebuilding team. They also have an extra 2014, 15 and 17 first round pick along with their own picks. If Orlando wanted DMC, they certainly have the assets to get him.

Good, apparently reason has won in Detroit this time. There are only two positions on the Detroit roster that do not need to be upgraded, and they're the two positions Cousins can play.

A frontcourt led by DMC and Big Baby? If they thought the Howard situation was a headache a team led by those two is bound to have some exciting moments lol

Could be the heaviest front court in the NBA?

Cousins : 270 lbs.
Big Baby : 288 lbs.

I find Orlando's interest strange.  Apparently good centers don't like to play there long term.

I'm of the opinion bad teams should not be giving much of anything for Cousins.  He needs a stable winning enviroment.  Charlotte and Orlando don't really have that at the moment.   Will they be willing to take the risk for significant assets?

I don't think Cousins needs a winning environment. He just needs one conducive to development. A team with good professionalism. Strong coaching staff. A roster with team oriented players with a defensive focus. Togetherness.

If I were team not a winning situation but felt confident I had those attributes, I would be more than happy to take Cousins on.

The mentality of the players, stability of organization and quality of coaching being key. Rather than the talent level of the roster.
