Our highest ranked player in PER is Pierce:  41st.  KG is 44th and Rondo is 47th.

Don't even bother looking for our next highest ranked player (hint: it is Chris Wilcox).

That is why our team is under .500.

Are the individual PERs down because we are playing bad as a team or are we playing bad as a team becasue the individual PERs are down?

To be playing this bad at this point in the season, it is probably all of the above but I think the main reason is that Pierce and KG are playing older this year.  No collection of role players and Rondo can make up for the loss of two stars.

Yup I totally agree, no rotation change is gonna make HUGE differences. Thats why I'm reluctant to pile on Doc. They ARE who they Are. They COULD play harder and win games against teams like the KINGS, this is just lack of focus and sulking...boo hoo >:( spoiled cry babies.

It seems PP and KG can't carry the team , Ray Allen couldn't either , ROndo is frustrated as the core of bigs has crumbled to dust.  All we have is patch work of decent role players  Bass , JET, BArbosa ,Collins. Green has been a disappointment , as a future starter. ALot of things have NOT panned out as planned . KG and PP showing their age worse than expected I imagine . Darko leaves. Bunch of problems and issues .  Now they all have their heads down and are sulking .

The team is gonna be stuck on a downward spirl without a influx of new ELITE talent on the back line.  NBA is talent driven.  Those teams without highest level talent don't compete for the championship.

"We Have No Stars"

That pretty much sums it up.  You don't win championships without at least 2.

PER is a load of garbage.

Boston has three stars = Rondo, Garnett and to a lesser degree Pierce. Rondo and Garnett are both amongst the top 15 players in the league arguably top ten. Pierce has shown some more slippage. Not sure where to rank him at the minute Probably inside top 30.

The Celtics have very strong star talent.

PER is sometimes misleading.

Tiago Splitter's PER is in the 20's, heck @DrayBaltche PER is a 22. Are they stars?

I think Pierce has dropped to too 50, and once and awhile will give you a stellar performance. I don't think Garnett can be ranked an elite player because he plays too few minutes so his positive impact on the game is limited. Rondo is on the verge of being a star when he grows up.

Garnett will play 35-37 minutes per game in the playoffs.

Great. Saving him for a first round loss to the Heat.

Wrong.

Keeping him fresh till the playoffs come. So we can advance deeper. Lord, I really am amazed by your optimism.

Absolutely. This team is geared up for a really deep run in the playoffs. Playing Garnett 4-5 minutes in every first quarter of regular season games is doing wonder for this team. Nothing better than playing from behind almost every game, regardless of the quality of the competition.

We have two former stars, and one actual star.
