Kevin Love continues to have reservations about his future with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

"I don't know who labels people stars, but even [T'wolves owner] Glen Taylor said: I don't think Kevin Love is a star, because he hasn't led us to the playoffs," Love told Yahoo! Sports. "I mean, it's not like I had much support out there.

"That's a tough pill to swallow."

Love was also once interrupted in the training room following a loss by David Kahn, who reportedly shoved a contract offer sheet into his hands.

"I'm not the one to always follow professional protocol – but I do know what it is, even at 24 years old," said Love.

Love missed the first part of the season with a broken hand sustained while doing knuckle pushups.

"Even people in my own organization were asking if it was a legitimate injury, people calling my honesty and integrity into question," Love says. "And that's what really hurt me."

Love believes in Rick Adelman, but Kahn's personnel moves continue to be looked at suspiciously.

"You walk into the locker room every year, and it's completely turned over," Love says. "There's new guys everywhere. And then it happens again and again. You start to wonder: Is there really a plan here? Is there really any kind of a … plan?"

Love signed a four-year, $62 million contract extension with the Wolves last year, far from the five-year, $80 million max deal he could have conceivably signed.

Love doesn't simply want the Wolves to be a playoff team, but also a title contender.

"And that's on me to do my part, to get us there," said Love, but the franchise won't have a benefit of doubt from him. "I'll have the leverage."

No way. Has Kevin Love done anything other than complain about being on the Timberwolves for the last two years?

Compare that to someone like LaMarcus Aldridge, who is going through a similar situation with the Blazers and seems to really cherish taking the team on his shoulders:

"It feels good. This is a a really good year for me to make that step and lead my team, become that guy who can become the closer and be that main guy every night."

"I went from the third or fourth option to the glue guy to being here now. I definitely don't take anything for granted, love the position I'm in, I cherish it, that's why I'm trying to get better every night."

"It's tough. If we go out every night and compete, guys work hard and improve, we should put ourselves in a position to be good this year and even better next year."

I know a lot of Boston fans get all tingly downstairs when they see white guys who can ball, but lets leave this Kevin to rot in 'Sota.

I think jeff green would have to be that filler and I honestly think Minnesota thinks about that kind of a deal if their ownership truly don't see him as a star player which they've apparently stated.  Bradley and Green would be a good long term 2-3 combo alongside Rubio at the point.  Would open up more minutes for Derrick Williams at the 4, Sullinger could come off the bench for now, and they get 2 first round draft picks.  Not a bad collection.  The obvious question is - could they get more?

I am not sure how much of a need the celtics have for Kevin Love.  We already have scorers.  We do need rebounding, which Love provides.  But defense needs to be a priority and Love hasn't shown a lot in that department.

That actually leaves us a pretty good team, except for Pierce's backup. It would suck to give up all those pieces, but Love is exactly the type of player we need to win a championship!

Obviously the guy is a talented basketball player. He's also been whining to the media whenever he gets the opportunity.

In regards to his four year contract and them saving the five year 100 mill for Rubio:

"It was a projection over a sure thing," Love says. "There's no question there was an agenda here. A different agenda."

"I have a very, very good memory, and I always remember the people who have done right by me, and the people who have done wrong by me," he says. "It will be embedded in my brain, and something I won't forget about. There's no telling what will happen. I would love to compete for a championship in Minnesota, but …"

"I haven't been in the playoffs yet," Love says. "I'm looking at my contract in the eye of two years from now, and if I haven't been to the playoffs – or it's been one playoff berth – well, it's going to be tough to say, 'Oh well, I'm going to stay here and continue to rebuild.' "

Again, I take someone like Aldridge ten times out of ten over KLove.

I assume that you are talking about three years from now, when this conversation will be relevant. Like you, I also hope that, between now and then, Sully and Melo develop into players that would net an MVP caliber PF in a trade.

I really can't fault a guy for wanting to win.

I mean, this isn't like Dwight Howard where his team regularly made the playoffs and went to the Finals once.

Love should bear some responsibility for trying to lead his team to victory, but one man can only do so much.

Their team is a lot better this year, for sure, so there's definitely much less excuse for not being better, but it'll be interesting to see how they look once Rubio is back.

I think because of Love's irritation at not competing for the playoffs, the T-Wolves will have a lot of pressure to make a trade for somebody like Pau Gasol.

If they do trade for Gasol, it'd be worth seeing if we could get in on the deal and acquire Pekovic.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.
