Sorry but they do. 25 year fan here and this has to be the worst of all the Celtics teams in my 25 years.  Say what you want of those teams in the late 90's and early 2000s, they didn’t have a lot of talent but at least they gave effort.  This team on paper has a lot of talent and depth but they flat out stink.

The excuse of chemistry is getting old, look at the Knicks and nets, both teams with new players and both kicking our butts in the standings. On a side note, why did Rasheed sign with the Knicks?  Did he hate Boston or just felt the Knicks were a better team than the Celtics? Sixers, without bynum and losing AI still have a better record then us.  The heat come back against the nets and win by 13 when we got blown out.  Ray is happy to be out of Boston and it shows.  We haven’t played the Knicks yet but I think when we do we’ll get blown out; the nets are 2-0 against us.  We split against the Sixers, which is still mind boggling especially when the kicks blew them out twice.  We got beat bad against the heat and yet the Knicks had no problem beating them.

Besides beating the Thunder, luck I believe, we have no big victories.  Simply put we are a .500 team and will be until the end of the season unless changes are made.  You can say they started out slow last year and look what happened, but last year they didn’t come into camp in shape because of the lockout, but at least you could hear doc say he liked the team and they will be good and ready come playoff time.  Has he said that this year?

So what’s next?  No clue, but like I said this team on paper has a lot of talent but flat out stink.  We all keep saying when Bradley returns they’ll be better; last I checked AB wasn’t Michael Jordan.  We are banking on our team winning based on an undersized 6’2 shooting guard who plays great D?? He may help a little, but where are the rebounds and size come from?  My only suggestions I have at this point is to make a huge trade or try some other lineups and players.  This isn’t last year, so the quicker we make some kind of change the more time we will have to build our chemistry.

If we keep the same team, call up Melo and use his size, it can’t hurt.  Since we are paying Green 9 million a year, no clue why, play him.  He is not a PF, so please Doc do not put him in the 4 spot.  Terry is an undersized shooting guard, he should not be starting.  Bass sucks, plain and simple.  When he’s on, he’s good, but when he’s off he’s woeful.  I say make a huge trade.  Keep Rondo, KG and Pierce just be cause Paul is a true Celtic although I think he is done personally.  Trade Bass and Green with maybe Barbosa and draft picks to get either a rebounder/ center or a flat out scorer since Paul can not do it every game anymore. Enough with the excuse, make changes now!!!!!

I am done venting, thoughts??

Yea, Complete knee Jerk overreaction.

In all honesty it was tough to give this any type of credit after you said that this is the worst Celtics team in 25 years. I just rolled my eyes.

They clearly aren't an elite team this year, but to say this team "flat out stinks" and is the "Worst in 25 years"?

 ::)

There a team who lacks interior toughness and at the rim scoring, since our three guys who can do that either are getting older (Pierce) are incredibly inconsistent (Green)or are more interested in passing than getting a open layup (rondo)

Combine that with our lack of defensive toughness inside, aside from KG, and you have a team that will likely get about 50 wins and get beat in the second round.

But to call them "The worst Celtics Team I've seen in 25 years" can only signal to me you've forgotten the 90's

http://www.nbauniverse.com/teams/records_boston_celtics.htm

unless you really loved the heart and hustle of those teams from 1993-2000, the highlight being 96, sweet 15-63 season.

And thats not even going into the seasons from 2002-2006. remember that awesome 24 win team in 2006. lot of upside on that team of course  8)

The team is playing like they are getting traded. Which is what I think will happen.

Too many guards. One will be out. Barbosa,AB,or Lee. Ab does play great one on one D, so thats a tough one to let go of. And Lee is a bit bigger, and still a good defender, and came here for less money, so to save the FA recruiting for the future thats hard to do also.

Green was the only real SF option at the time, plus they couldn't sign some one else at that money. Also it makes good for bringing in a bigger named star.

Bass also is a better bench player. He was great last season before he started. I hate when he gets a rebound and is surround by 3 guys and he still shoots the ball. Plus he can't really drive to the hoop, but still does.

PP is showing his age. Still can ball, still is great in the clutch, but his ball handling has been horrible the last two seasons.

With a trade you need to bring in a SF as well as a PF.

The dream would be a three team trade between Utah,Atlanta, and Boston.

Boston: Sends--Green,Bass,filler
        Receives-Josh Smith,Hayward

Utah: Sends--Jefferson,Hayward,filler
      Receives--Bass,Green,filler

Atlanta: Sends--Smith,Filler
         Receives--Jefferson,fillers

for Utah they get a back up PF, Green at SF and can move Favors to center

Atlanta gets a Center, and can move Horford to PF and doesn't loose a player next season if they keep Smith.

And well Boston gets Smith. Solves the rebounding, protecting the paint problem. Rondo is happy to have a big that will run and go get it. And Hayward would be a nice back up for PP.

Again not really serious about it, was just playing the other day trying to match salaries up and this combo worked.

But if that were to happen, sign up KMart and Bird man and call it good!:P

As much as im all for keeping this team together because i feel it will come together when it counts..... I actually like those trades...... i actually really like Haywood as a player and reckon he has talent. More talent than Green has... probs not but i dunno.

Still i reckon we keep this group together, you look at how young some of these players are, keep that core together for 2-3 years. they are gonna know how to read each other and will be scary. A rondo barbosa Lee Green fast break...... good luck stopping that

im surprised fans can be so negative after the past two games...sure last night was a loss, but clearly the effort was there, some breaks just didnt go their way....compare that to the Nets game and its night and day

in the last two games, Green/Lee have broken out finally contributing how we thought they would and the defense has been MUCH better...and thats without our floor leader/best player

only place to go from here is up....I expect us to go on a run starting soon

No I didnt forget those teams but keep in mind I wasnt expecting to win a championship with those teams either.  This presently constructed team I am expecting a championship.  Those teams of the late 90s and 2000s atleast gave effort even though nobody expected much.

Still too early to give up on them, now.

It's a long season.

Admittedly, things haven't gone as we all had envisioned earlier in the season, but that doesn't mean it's time to throw in the towel.

Lakers are struggling, too. NY and BKN - while playing well right now, won't sustain that for long.

We've beaten OKC - an Elite team. We've also beaten MIL and CHI - both on the road and both of them are playoff teams.

We've beaten Utah - a probable playoff team.

Jeff Green is showing signs of becoming more consistent. We've gotten good play out of Courtney Lee.

Sully has impressed, for the most part.

And we still have the best PG in the game - and it's not Chris Paul.

For me, I'll enjoy the ride all the way until it's over. And I'm not expecting THIS edition to be over until Mid June 2013.

I lived through an aging team before and seen C's teams that really stinked.   This team does not stink, live through the late 90 and early 2000's before you say stink.

Exactly - and I forgot all about AB in my previous post.

Looking forward to him and Rondo teaming up again:

Can't wait to get The Major Pest back. The NBA has forgotten about him, but they will soon be reminded.

I expect BOS to go on some winning streaks once AB gets back.

WE're fine.  This team is going to play .500 ball until the trade deadline.  This shouldn't be surprising to anyone.  It's not like we added Dwight Howard and Steve Nash.  This was a mediocre regular season team last year as well.

you would think after last year people would be more patient. i will admit it sucks to watch them lose but they will turn it around. These guys got too much pride.
