Ladies and Gentleman Your:
Apologies for the detail, I am bored at work and this was fun to write!
GK:
Brad FridelThe timeless American legend at Keeper. A fixture in the Premier league since 1997, his infallible leadership and technical skill will serve this team extremely well. As per the “timelessness” rule, we are talking early to mid 2000’s Brad here, when he was an absolute beast in net earning him a spot on the EPL player of the year team, and recognition as one of the top Goal Keepers of the 21st Century.

Djalma SantosDL:
Andres BrehmeOur men in charge of dealing with the amazing depth of wingers in this draft, and I’m happy to have them.
Djalma is one of only 4 players to participate in 4 world cups. Playing for Brazil in the fifties and sixties, he was known for his lock down defensive skills and great size, often switched to play on the opposing teams best winger. In addition to his two world cup winning squads, he also won numerous club trophies for palmeiras, where he spent the majority of his club career.
Brehme, aside from winning the 1990 World Cup for germany, is considered one of the best attacking Left backs in history. With his great pace and crossing ability, he was always looking to push the pace, which will be essential with our attacking oriented team.
Brehme’s attacking skills, 3 World Cups, and defensive skill will hopefully shore us up vs. the amazing wingers we will face on a nightly basis in this league.
Overall, I’m very happy with my outside defense, though Brehme’s focus on attacking, I’ll concede, may get us into trouble if he gets caught forward.

Bobby MooreDC:
Rio FerdinandI’m amazingly happy to have these Two in the heart of our defense. I drafted them looking for size, consistency of form and lock down ability to do what we can against the likes of Maradona, Pele, and messi ect. While no one can outright stop these amazing attackers, these two should at least be able to slow them down.
Moore is one of the greatest defenders of all time, and were it not for the Golden Arrow up in Midfield, would likely be our captain. A stalwalt of England, he made over 90 appearances as the squads captain, and Captained the squad that won the World cup in 1966. Known as a world class defender, he certainly wont be coming forward much to attack but he should help us slow down the opposition.
Rio Is the timeless and tireless center back for ManU. At 6’2, he provides us with aerial superiority at both ends of the pitch, and his consistency at defense will only improve our backline. A member of 3 world cup squads, he rounds out our backline quite nicely.
DMC:
Claude MakaleleOne of the all time best true defensive midfielders, he is what I look for in a DMC for this team. He isn’t going to focus on attack, but he was known as a great defender and passer to link our backfield with the strength of our team, the attack.
This is a man who was so dominate at the defensive mid position, that some people now call it the “makalele role”. He was the heart of Real Madrid in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, and it’s no surprise that his sale to Chelsea signaled a down period for Madrid and a upswing for Chelsea. He is was known as a nearly flawless defender, really a 5th fullback who had the passing ability to link the fullbacks to the attackers.
AMC:
Alfredo di StefanoAnd this is the man he will be feeding, he is our captain and will lead us to glory!
The Blond Arrow Alfredo Stefano is regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. His name graces the li ligra trophy for best player, he captained a Real Madrid squad that won the champions league trophy 5 consecutive times in the 1950’s.
Known for his great stamina, pace, technical ability, defending, and goal scoring ability, he was a two time ballon d’or winner, and lead real Madrid to 10 league titles. He remains Real Madrid’s second leading scorer of all time, and the 4th leading scorer of all time in the Spanish premier league.
He lead Real Madrid to 8 league titles, 5 consecutive champions league titles, and numerous other lower cup honors. Real Madrid currently plays in a stadium named after him. Along with another of the all time greats at center mid, we expect our attack to compete with the best ever assembled.
AMC:
Micheal PlatiniAlfredo’s partner in crime was one of the all time greats in his own right. He is considered one of the best pure playmakers in football history. With his dribbiling, passing and finishing skills, we expect him and Stefano to keep the oppositions defense under constant threat. He will also be our Free Kick specialist, backed up by the always easy to hate David Beckham.
Platini was part of the magic square that led France to near Glory in 3 World Cups, coming up short in the semi finals each time. He was also a ballon d’or winner in his own right.
AMR:
David BeckhamThe brash winger, the lightening rod. Always hated for being to pretty, and for holding on to long by purists with his move to MLS, no one can objectively deny that Beckham was one of the greatest players of his generation in the 90’s and early 2000’s, perhaps culminating in his amazing 1999 season where he took ManU to a triple crown victory of EPL, FA Cup and Champions League. At the height of his playing ability from 97-2002, Beckham led Manu to Three consecutive league titles.
Known for his pace on the wing and crossing ability, Beckham was also a capable finisher. I think Platini is better at freekicks, dispite the movie, but we’ll give Beckham the corners.
AML:
Ryan GiggsAnother huge threat to cross from the wing after leaving his defender in the dust (can you tell our strategy is to abuse that triangle by feeding them from the wings yet?) Gigg’s left foot has been declared a national treasure. The Welshman is known for his tireless running, ball control and dribbling abilities, and of course the amazing crosses his left foot produces at the end of his runs.
HE is also a model of consistency, being a fixture in the ManU starting 11 for over a 20 years. His unbroken two decades of service for one of the World’s top clubs has led him to be a part of 12 EPL championships, 3 Champions league winners, and numerous lower cups. He’s been Player of the year 6 times in the EPL and was named to the Champions League team of the decade.
ST:
RomarioThe man at the head of our devastating attack needed to be a World Class Striker, and so he is. While certainly a step below some of the all time greats ala pele, Romario is not one to be dismissed lightly. He is one of the elite few strikers with not only 1,000 Goals to his name but also a World Cup Golden Ball.
A absolute fiend with his dribbling skills and finishing, he helped lead Brazil to it’s record 5th World Cup in 1994. He has won numerous club titles and individual honors, but only one Fifa Player of the year title, due to his reluctance to leave Brazil during his prime.
Sub:
Gareath BaleA pick I know some consider a reach, but I am of the opinion that Bale will be one of this generations superstars. At only age 23, the Welshman has already shown that his absolutely freakish pace on the wing and, to quote his ex coach “Brazilian like crossing ability” has resulted in Spurs return to relevance. His amazing games vs. Inter Milan at the age of 21 put everyone (especially marcon, who he left for dead dispite being on of today’s best fullbacks) on notice that he is going to be a force to be reckoned with.
He has a amazing work ethic and is praised by one and all for being a humble, team orenited player despite his great skill. Learning behind his idol and fellow Welshman Ryan Giggs, Bale will come off the bench for us at both Left Full back and Left Wing. His pacey attacking skills will fit right in with our terrorizing triangle.
Coach: Ottmar Hitzfeld
He's a good coach, ive gone on to long already.
