First, I think Rondo at 30 is going to be just fine.  His vision and enormous hands will still be around (unless he loses a finger or something).

Second, you're right about oen thing:  PP and KG will be done pretty soon.  Is it worth going all-in for the  next couple of years?  I'd say if you have a shot, take it, and if that means trading away prospects, then that's what happens.

It's how we got KG in the first place.  We gave away Big Al, a heck of a prospect at the time.  Should we trade Bradley and/or Sullinger?  If we can get a near-top of the roster talent, it's a no-brainer.

championship windows are fleeting...all it takes is something like len bias in 1986 or gronk hurting his ankle last year before the superbowl or dwade's punk play on rondo...the risk is too great..let's use baseball as an example...you can try to build a competitive team every year like the twins and a's or go for broke and win 2 world series like the marlins...i'll take the 2 world series...there is no guarantee rondo is still in his prime or healthy in 2 to 3 years...you hit while the iron is hot...

If bradley couldn't help us in a HUGE way right now then id agree with trading him. I think he can help us huge NOW. Sullinger on the other hand i think he needs more years to really be able to help this team the way we need him to right now. Id trade him and lee and bass and green before id trade bradley. We gotta try for smith or gortat for sure. Depends on the asking price tho.

the pieces do not fit together...there is no synergy where 1+1=3 not 2...the right big man elevates rondo's game and especially kg's game...kg is a leader without troops on the  inside and on the glass...kg is at his best when he is the qb orchestrating all the moving parts especially on defense...but...kg really has nothing to work with...

Well he might get Wilcox/Sullinger minutes and of the 4 (KMart, Bass, Sully, Wilcox) he might the best at patrolling the paint. He also could make it easier to give up a Sullinger via trade...

"Better than Bass" I don't think is the measuring stick right now.

A players prime is usually takes place between the ages of 26-32. Rondo has just entered this phase. He still has 5-7 years of top the barrel pg play.

One of the problems with the Celtics is that we do not have a top tier superstar in reality. We have two, KG AND  PIERCE, but that is in name only. Kg and Pierce may be perceived as top tier (category 1) superstars but in reality they have slipped into category 2, and Rondo has not quite ascended to category 1 status yet. You cannot win without at least one top tier star.

The other problem is Doc and his small ball obsession.
