He's fine.  It was one game.  It's not easy going against the King.

Not giving up on Jeff Green or Jason Terry. Not gonna do it, wouldn't be prudent!
The beatings will continue until morale improves

Jeff seemed to be a bit to hyped up. First real game back after the heart issues, on the same floor as the last game he played 2 years ago, it was an emotional night for him. He'll slow down against other opponents and be ready for the next matchup with Heat.

I think this is overblown, even though we were hitting shots, our offense was very disorganized, and Jeff Green's suffered because of this. He should have been posting, but I think part of that is on Rondo calling plays, and on Doc to instruct him to do so.

I think overall he had a couple of good shots that didn't go in for him. Certainly not a good game, but I don't see it as representative of what to expect from him this year.

Poor game by Terry though on many fronts, it's like he never settled down through the game.

NBA tv Live was down last night so I haven't had a chance to watch this yet, but from what people are saying it sounds like we had two teams go in to this very emotional game - one team held it's composure, and the other (ours) didn't.

I think the bad play is probably 40% chemistry and 60% emotional.

I'm thinking that next game (when emotions aren't stirring) we will be calmer and will play much better.  We should have the emotional sorted and should only have the chemistry to worry about the chemistry.

People are definitely being too harsh on Jeff Green.  He was arguably our best player (and one of our most consistent) across 8 Preseason games and I really don't think that's going to change in the regular season.

This was the first game of the season again maybe the hardest player in the world to play against.  Give him time :)

JEFF GREEN IS A BEAST... dude had a bad game. He hasn't felt that type of adrenaline in over a 16 months.

JET looked like trash but I don't see you questioning his love for the game. Give me a break bro, this whole team will turn up when the time is right.

Still 81 games to go..
...so he played exactly like he did 16 months ago.

Maybe Jeff would do better if he played more minutes. When he was in OKC Jeff played more minutes, took more shots, and was a bigger factor. In OKC he was averaging 36 mpg, here 23 mpg. In OKC he was taking 13 spg, here 8, and yesterday 4 shots. How do you expect him to get in any sort of rhythm when he's not allowed to play his game?

So I guess it's going to be another year on this board of guys coming up with trade scenarios to get Jeff, and half our team, out of here for much less talented Players.  ::)

Defensively he looked lost. But it's the first game. A lot of guys looked lost. Plus, the Heat, they are pretty good.

my feeling:

1. until green plays consistently, the way he did in preseason, he has a lot of proving to do.  he was passive and terrible for the half season we had him before being out for an entire season with heart issues.  I was not feeling the contract he got.  I hope he finds his niche and play the way he did during the preseason.....consistently and when it counts.

2. darko is a bust.  always has been, always will be

Green seems to have the same feeling about his game yesterday as most of us:

Quote
"I didn't like the way I played at all," admitted Green. "It all starts on the defensive end. I didn't feel like I was as aggressive on the defensive end as I should have been. But it'll change."

I just have to chime in again.

It's one thing to think Green won't be worth his contract.  That's a fair argument.

But to wonder if he's going to be like Darko?  That's not even up to debate.

This is a guy who averaged better than 15 ppg for 3 seasons in OKC.

As I said before, maybe he won't be everything Danny hopes he'll be, but assuming there's no lingering health concerns, he'll at the very least be good.

"Jeff Green is a beast" made me laugh. He has never been a "beast" and I doubt he will ever be a "beast."  A good bench player, maybe. A "Beast," bahahahahahahahahaha

He was a beast in the preseason... Against players that couldn't even make the Dleague affiliates. Now he's back in the big leagues.

Tskitshviliesque.  Yep I'm feeling what you are feeling.  The guy's whole career has been that of an average backup but for some reason every year, people think he is a borderline allstar.

Maybe this Green should be compared to another Green- Gerald.  Great size, and athletic ability.  Good Shooters.  But one Green doesn't understand anything about basketball and the other Green either doesn't understand or is too nervous and scared to show it.

Yep, we are the best fans in the world. So a guy comes back after missing a year from heart surgery, against the defending champs on the road, matched up agains one of the best players of all-time in his prime, and looks rusty, so what do we do? We compare him to Tskitishvili and Darko and all the other major dissapointments that we can think of. Great.
